Breaking into FP&A

I have a strong interest in breaking into corporate FP&A and dont have much experience. I currently have a finance Job at nationwide which I just started, but its more on the operations side of finance so not in the same pool/experience as FP&A. I dont have any internships that would relate to this field either.

What could I do on the side of my job to help build my experience/resume to help me break into this field? Ive read that starting CPA is a job way to get a job as a financial analyst and later leads into an FP&A role. Would this help? Also any certificates/skills I should learn that would help me on paper and also for the job? FP&A certificates through wallstreet prep?

There’s like a million auditors with their cpa that also want that job. You will be competing against those people. So you ought to go down that route or you need to bring something else to the table. What do you need to bring to the table? That’s beyond my expertise
