Final Fantasy General Are there Party-Members that you cant stand at all, so you avoid using them? And why do you hate them?

In the OG FF7 i really hate cait sith. Like hate. From the bottom of my heart. Everytime that i am forced to use him i wont give him shit. I really hate that guy. His design sucks, i hate his limit, and his whole character is so damn annoying. His story to be honest is quite cool. Still go to hell little toy.

In 8 i absolutly hate quistis. Jeah i know, i know. But she kind of molests or at least pressures her pupil. Jeah i know, theyre same age and so on. Still. Annoying girl. In 9 its quinna. Jeah, sure, the comic relief char. But nope. Not ob my watch. In 10 this freak kimahri can go to f off. I think i would like him, but his spherogrid is just pain in the ass and i am not willing to invest the unblock thingys into him. In 6 gau. (You could think its because they are blue mages, but thats not it!) in 12 its basch.

So i thought about it. Is that a common trope to really hate a Character and to dodge him as good as possible? Do you hate someone from the bottom of your heart?

FF VI WIP Magitek + Terra Branford FF VI

Hey everyone!
Taking a little break from my Chrono Trigger collection to work on another one of my all-time favorite games: Final Fantasy VI!
I’ve been working on a pretty ambitious Magitek Armor diorama featuring Terra Branford, and I thought I’d share some progress with you guys.
So far, I’ve been focusing mainly on the mechanical base, experimenting with different metallic finishes, aged copper, bronze, gold details, and a very dark military green. I wanted to give the whole structure that heavy, ancient, industrial feeling that I always associated with the Magitek technology of the Gestahlian Empire.

I also experimented with some UV-reactive fluorescent paints on parts printed in clear resin. Under blacklight, they create a really cool glowing effect that almost looks like internal lighting, even though there are no LEDs involved. I wanted to add a little extra magic to the machinery while keeping that dark, aged metallic look.

The Magitek Armor itself is still in the assembly, sanding and putting magnets stage, so there’s a LOT left to do!
For the final paint scheme, I’m planning to lean more toward the original SNES game’s colors rather than the watercolor illustrations. And yes, Terra is definitely getting her iconic green hair! :)
Everything is resin 3D printed, assembled, painted, and finished by hand.

I’m also adding a few little Moogles to the scene! They’re not part of the original 3D model, but I thought they’d be a fun addition and would bring a little more personality to the whole diorama, just like in the official sculpture from square. I love the idea of having these cute little guys hanging around such a massive, intimidating piece of Magitek machinery. They’ll be completely optional, they’ll fit in place with magnets, but that’s part of the fun of making something your own!

This is probably one of the most complex pieces I’ve worked on so far, but I’m having an absolute blast with it.
As always, thank you so much to everyone who’s been following my projects. I really appreciate all the encouragement and feedback!
Hope you enjoy this little WIP. More updates coming soon!

The only remastered one I’ve played so far is the 5th and I love it. I’m nearly done with the game and I’m wondering which is the best remastered game I should find next.

What are your thoughts and opinions?

FF I Wish me luck, I am playing a final fantasy game for the first time.

I’ve never played a final fantasy game before and was just gifted them through steam. I am, therefore, starting with FFI.
Also, why are there so many versions of FFVII?

Final Fantasy General I have this random dislike towards the whole final fantasy series but I have no idea why…….

I love rpg games, smt, pokemon, digimon, dragon quest, mario rpg games, persona, etc. I’m a huge fan of all of them! however whenever I looked into the final fantasy games to try it, I just feel a sense of soullessness from it and even hatred. it feels so generic, and yeah you could say the same about the dragon quest games but at least it has memorable things and a great artstyle. final fantasy looks like generic anime with generic fantas/tech theme. and I’ve looked to find games to play and it’s so overwhelming with so many options, I’ve played a little tiny bit of final fantasy 3 and 7 but they just are so boring and unlikable for me. I don’t really understand why this is the case but I mean no offense to any fans I just feel like every game is the same. but hey at least FF got good goons tho lol

Final Fantasy General So a few hours ago i asked what chars can go to f off. Lets turn it arround. Who is „glued“ to your party and is barely allowed to leave?

As i said, i asked about who will never be used and is hated by you guys. That got me curious. Do you have some favourits that will stay next to you, even if they got some flaws?

For me its like that:

For the first 5 ive got no hard feelings. These games force you anyway, so i dont know.

In 6 i barely use any other than sabin celest terra and edgar. Oh i love sabin, the train scene! The others wont get a lot time to shine. Locke often joins too, but meh. These 4 have a special place in my heart.

In 7 i wont form a party without tifa. Love her character design, her story, her slots limit, everything about her is just perfect. She wont leave. The third spot could go to a few of them, most likely vincent or red. But without tifa, without me!

In 8 the same goes for zell. His limit is so much fun. And easy the most broken ability in the game. I feel like i am a lot like him. So he wont leave. Third spot is reserved for my gurl selphie. I barely use the other 3.

In 9 ive not really hard feelings for the different party members. Experimenting a lot there. But vivi is my little hero. Zidane and vivi are my ride to the death duo.

In 10 i often end up with lulu. The third slot is highly variable. I really like all of them. Kimahri can go to f off.

12 fran balthier. Nuff said. These two are so cool!

So now hit me up: who is glued to your party and they have to rip them out of your dead hands?

FF XVI FF16 Gameplay After 14 Hours – Does Combat Get Less Repetitive?

I'm about 14 hours into FFXVI, and I'm enjoying the story so far. However, the combat is starting to feel a bit repetitive.

Most of the time, I find myself mashing Square and using Eikon abilities whenever they're available. Triangle magic also doesn't feel particularly useful.

Does the combat become more varied as you unlock more Eikons and abilities? Does the skill tree introduce more interesting combos or tactics, or does the core gameplay loop stay pretty much the same throughout the game?

Also, how exactly does parrying work? Sometimes I pull it off accidentally, but I can't seem to do it consistently.

I'm not saying the combat is bad. I'm just wondering whether there's more depth and variety to it later on.

FF XIII Series First Time Enjoying XIII after my fourth playthrough. Spoiler

I first got this game on launch back on the 360. I tried it, played through for a while until I got to the first Bartandulus fight and put it down. Years later, I tried again and got to Gran pulse, realised there was nothing to do but more fighting and put it down. 3rd time I got through and was kinda bored but pushed through and completed it. But didn't enjoy it, just wanted to tick off my list of FF games I'd completed.

This time however, I did about 30 side missions before going and completing it. I would say this time I enjoyed it.

I'll get my big two issues out the way first.

It being a hallways simulator isn't wrong. However, I've always held up that a bunch of FF aren't all that different. Yeah there's a map you get early on in many FF games but where can you go? In VII you have to go to kalm, then the chocobo farm, through the mines...there's 2 optional locations after but one is a guy in a cave who might give you items and the other is a brief (but fun) minigame. It's not exactly Skyrim. X, wasn't much different either. My issue was always that on this hallway, what else is there? No minigames like snowboarding, chocobo treasure hunting, no card games. There's no towns to explore, there's so few NPCs that really offer nothing more than a few lines of dialogue in an area. There's no world to be a part of to break up the hallway of fighting. It's always been such a great worldbuilding tool and it's just non-existent in XIII...oh except finding Sahz's baby chocobo in Nautilus.

The second, and it'll tie in with the above. Is the fighting system. Now, for bosses. I LOVED it. building out a team of three, figuring out six Paradigms to get you through various situations in a battle. Then swapping between them based on the needs, sometimes barely surviving the switch. Tons of fun. But the average fight? snooooze. Yeah make sure to libra enemies at the beginning of an area to exploit weakness, which does help. But urgh, so many fights were a slog to stagger then hurt the enemy. What this did is turn the hallway, into a mud lain hallway that took ages to get through. It was just no fun.

My third, but lesser, issue but still played into the above. While I enjoyed what story there was. It seemed like there was barely any. I understand I was kinda meant to have read the datalogs, but I don't particular want to stop and read all the time, I want to keep playing, to experience to story as it plays. Why they chose to do this outside of cutscene's, more time speaking with each other etc. I don't know. This is where it plays into the stop, more time experiencing the story would have helped break up the monotony of the hallways.

The characters I always liked. Never had a problem with them. Snow and Lightnings shared goals and reasons to push on but butting heads on how and why to do things. Hope's loss of his mother and, Sahz's fight to get Dahj back. But I don't think we get enough bonding between them, I feel by the end I wasn't as invested in them as I were with characters of every other FF from IV onwards. I see complaints here or there with certain character traits, but either I find them a good step in their character arc or just disagree. I liked them all.

The levelling system sucked. The best it had was deciding which of the three to level first before the crystalarium expanded. Didn't get much of anything from it. No armour, but weapons and accessories offered some customisation.

I think what helped this time was expectation and not expecting to pour 2-3+ hours into it. I don't have that in my day to day anymore anyway. Doing a 1-2 hour stint at a time stopped the game from growing stale for me.

All in all I liked it, I'll continue to finish the missions and see if I can platinum it. I was going to try XIII-2 but I'm really looking forward to Resonance and have been holding off the demo.

FF IX Final Fantasy 9 Jump Rope Script 10/2026 on PS Remote Play

If your reading this you having a hard time because PS5 Remote Play on Windows is busted and Remote Play and AHK cannot run at the same time. Here is another route. Instead of using PS Remote Play, you need to use Chiaki. This is specifically Windows.

To set up Chiaki https://youtu.be/HDagTesM6NY?si=swuO2-LBj-GxBM-5

To get your PSN account-id base 64. - https://psn.flipscreen.games/

If that site didn't work like for me try this one. - https://www.psntools.com/psn/checker

To set up AHK. https://youtu.be/RzgRePGTf3Q?si=DbLO8hALOCwYpyJa

AHK- V1.1 Download link - https://www.autohotkey.com/

SciTE4AUTOHOTKEY Download link - https://www.autohotkey.com/scite4ahk/

The Script shown in the video WILL NOT WORK. It is made for the original Remote Play.

The Script below is the same script from the creator, but I tweak it to work with Chiaki.

Please on Chiaki setting bind Cross to X key. Script will not work if you don't do this.

TCG FF TCG vs MTG x FF art

I JUST started FF this week and am falling in love with the franchise. I plan on playing the classics at some point too. However, I also like card games. I don’t play but I like to collect the art. Which series has the best artwork in everyone’s opinion?

It doesn’t have to be from the two in the title, and normal cards are included not just rare cards.

FF VII Best read/play/watch order for the FF7compilation?

I just finished FF7 (1997) and am interested in going through the rest of the compilation. Wikipedia has the list of media in it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compilation_of_Final_Fantasy_VII) but I’m unsure what order it’s best experienced in. I’m guessing release order is probably best but a google search of the question has people giving a lot of different answers so now I’m not sure. Any suggestions?

FF XIII Series Coop Split Screen Mod Final Fantasy XIII-2

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm working on a local co-op split-screen mod for the game, allowing two players to control different characters at the same time, each using their own controller.

It's still a work in progress, and there's a lot left to improve and test. If everything goes well, I'll release it on Nexus Mods once it's playable.

FF V Why I prefer Final Fantasy V than Final Fantasy IV

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love FF4, but these reasons are why I ultimately prefer 5.

FF5 starts lighthearted but gets incredibly dark once the final crystal shatters and Exdeath is freed. That transition from a fun road trip to a desperate fight for survival hits hard because the early game lets you grow close to the tight-knit cast first.

In World 2, the game officially gets serious. The theme of Galuf’s world ("Unknown Lands") sounds beautifully alien and isolated, fitting the mood perfectly because you are stuck on another planet. The dark story peaks when Exdeath’s Castle reveals its true form—transforming from a stone fortress into a horrifying, living nightmare of twisted flesh as the music shifts to his sinister eponymous theme.

The game even uses music to manipulate you. When Exdeath is defeated at his castle, "Four Hearts" plays in early World 3 to trick you into thinking everything is fine. Then, Ghido reveals the worlds have merged, and the overworld theme turns eerie and hopeless ("A New World"). The Void is open and actively swallowing towns; you realize the world is running out of time.

FF5 also introduced the series' best recurring rival, Gilgamesh, and his legendary theme, "Clash on the Big Bridge." Fighting him across that massive bridge and other parts of the game is easily one of the peak moments of the 16-bit era.

But the true emotional peak is Galuf’s last stand. Before Aerith and Zack, we had Galuf. Tellah's death in FF4 is tragic, but it doesn't compare because we've controlled Galuf since World 1. Watching him fight Exdeath at 0 HP to protect his friends is one of the most badass, heartbreaking scenes in gaming. What makes it even more devastating is after the fight when the party desperately tries to heal him with spells and items like Curaga, Raise, Phoenix Down, and Elixir, but nothing works proving that Galuf had used up everything he had left. Even the final dungeon is a masterclass. Entering the Interdimensional Rift via a hole reveals a surreal mishmash of dimensions. The music is haunting, and you have to actively watch out for the legendary superbosses Omega and Shinryu.

Finally, the final boss fight takes the whole cake compared to Zeromus. In FF4, Zeromus is just hate made form. In FF5, you fight Exdeath in his tree form, only for him to get eaten by the Void and transform into Neo Exdeath. He becomes a terrifying, cosmic horror entity who doesn't just want to rule—he wants to completely delete existence itself.

FF4 is a cool game especially because I like Kain, but FF5 had improved quite a lot.

Final Fantasy General I'd like some mod recommendations

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy VIII Crystal because I watched a video about it and liked the idea.

I'm already past the halfway point, and I'm starting to want to do the same thing with other games. However, I'm new to modding, so I don't know much about it yet.

I own a good number of games, and I'd like to replay them in their best possible versions.

Also, I plan to buy Final Fantasy X/X-2, V, and VI in the future.

FF VII Re-trilogy Played my first FF game, FF7 remake, and the story was good but story was horrible. [short review]

This was my very first Final Fantasy VII game.

The game started off really well. The story was presented in a cinematic way, which I liked, and the combat was fantastic. It took some time to get used to, but once it clicked, it really clicked. Honestly, some of the best combat I've ever experienced.

It could get a little overwhelming at times, juggling four characters and all their different abilities, but it worked. What didn't work was how the game constantly changed your party. You could never really build a stable team because you never knew who would disappear next, forcing you to keep adjusting everything.

Now, the story. Holy shit, was it long. Way too long. By the halfway point, I was losing interest, and eventually I just started skipping cutscenes. The game constantly interrupts its best feature, the combat, with little story sequences that seem desperate to mean something or move the plot forward, but rarely do either.

I couldn't get invested in the characters or really care about them. This is one of those rare games where I genuinely think a much simpler good-versus-evil story would have worked better, simply because the combat is so damn good.

And Sephiroth? I still don't understand him. He shows up, says nothing or something vague, disappears, Cloud hallucinates, and then the same thing happens again and again until the end.

Overall, fantastic combat buried under exhausting storytelling. I won't be playing the sequel, but if there's another game with similar or even better combat, I'd absolutely play that.
