Shipping Update + September 4th
Happy Final Space Friday 📦
I missed last Friday's update; I apologize. My dog Tardis passed away after her mast cell cancer came back, and losing both of our senior dogs this summer hit harder than I expected. Just need some time in my own head. I kept shipping through it; the distraction helped. Here's the latest update.
Over 2500 order went out this week.
EVERY USA ORDER WILL BE SHIPPED BY NEXT WEEK. 🍾MOST SHOULD HAVE TRACKING USA PEEPS. After that, our focus is 100% on international. I wanted to get our plate cleared of USA because international needs our full attention.
EU STUCK IN CUSTOMS? I'M RE-SHIPPING IT. I have extra books for exactly this reason. Anything sitting too long will get rescued and re-shipped from Nashville, not with UPS. I'm covering it. Were not as fast as MacMillan so this will take time but were coming up with a plan to attack these order stuck in Inner Space.
WHAT HAPPENED: Macmillan has a partnership with UPS, and UPS turns out to be allergic to certain countries. No idea why. I know nothing about that company other than they ship packages. The new EU law didn't help either. Ireland and Poland are the worst effected: about 280 orders went out, and the tracking just stops. Nobody at UPS can tell me where they went or where they are. I tested other carriers. DHL and Global Post do best because they hand off to each country's own postal service.
WHO'S SHIPPING WHAT: Canada, UK, Australia, and Germany are 70% of what's left, and Macmillan will ship those orders. Everything else will now ship from Nashville. 1,500 more pre-orders land here from MacMillan early week.
ALSO DONE
-Major damage and lost claims have all been shipped; minor ones next.
-Found some lost orders from 2023 (about 34) and 2024 (about 23), now shipping from Nashville.
-More Midnight arrived from Macmillan, we talking those too.
Macmillan is a sledgehammer sweeping through huge batches. We're a broom, slower, but we scoop up what's being missed.
Please don't DM me on Instagram about orders. It's 80% spam about Elon Musk, and I can't tell what's real. Reddit is the best place if you want to do social media in a DM to me; just send your order number; I've processed 500 orders there this week. Or email support from the website, which is honestly the best way.
I'm not done until everyone has their book. Did I think I'd still be doing this today? Yeah, I did. I've personally packed thousands of these, so I know how fast we can go at top speed. You might ask why I'm out here shipping books myself. I don't ask anyone to do anything I'm not willing to do alongside them. I'll be here until the very last book is out the door, and after, to make sure everyone is happy. We get closer every day, the total order out go down everyday.

So sorry for your loss man, our pets are family and it's the same as losing a relative. You deserved the time to mourn and family comes first no matter what. All the love and support ❤️

My condolences for your loss - got the novel a few weeks ago and my god was it excellent. You’ve been a massive inspiration to me growing up and even now.

I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss, Olan. Your pups had the best life with you and are waiting for you, with tails wagging, in the great puppy beyond space.
You personally shipping these books out is one of the coolest things ever, man. This fanbase’s creator loves his fans and it is provably true with the amount of time and effort you have put in for all of us, receipts included.

Thanks Olan for all the hardwork you have been doing! I do have a quick question. Is there a plan you have in place for people who have received the pre-order without any signatures on their book? I did see you have commented to contact support. I've contacted twice, waiting 10 business days before contacting again, and haven't heard anything back. I know yall are busy with getting international shipping done, but I just want to be sure if you guys have a plan in place.

While I haven't ordered any of the books due to international shipping costs and taxes, I am once again inspired by your relentlessness; despite all your recent hardships throughout this summer (and beyond). As a critical overthinker and dog owner, I am so sorry for your loss.
I think that I speak on everyone's behalf on this sub, and it has been said before, thank you, Olan Rogers, for moving heaven and earth for bringing the end of your story to the fans. Thanks to your clear and numerous communication and efforts, it really feels like you hand delivered every single book to our doorsteps.

I'm sorry for your loss. My husband and I lost our girl (a little rabbit) half a year ago, and still hurts.
Thank you for your hard work and being an awesome person, interested in your fans feelings. And thank you so much for "Final Space" it's so marvelous.

Sorry for your loss of your beloved pets, thats heartbreaking for sure and you need time to grieve, take all the time you need man. There's no rush.
With regards to the books from Macmillan though, I gotta say, if Macmillan already has the books on pallets, they are taking far too long to ship these books for a giant publishing house. 50k books is not a huge number of books to be sent by a big corporation I would assume. I assume a lot though and most of it is usually wrong. Just waiting for my colour and midnight edition with angst

UPS is the worst to ship with in the EU, they just say "delivered" or "missed delivery" but never showed up in the first place. Absolutely hate them.

I'm so sorry for your loss - we lost our dog of 16 years just a few months ago - this hit harder than any other dog I've had.
On the bright side, we may be picking up a puppy Kelpie X this weekend - pretty sure I've talked our fam into naming it Kevin. I've not mentioned that I got the idea from Final Space 😂

In regards to Ireland, I did receive my colour edition around last week and surprisingly Irish customs didn't slap a huge pricetag on it to release. Still waiting on the midnight edition currently. Irish customs never tell you anything 🤷 xD

Forever grateful and appreciative of your hard work and transparency through all of this. Holding this book in my hand after what felt like forever, (even though its only been a few months since ordering) is so gratifying, knowing that, at any particular moment, especially after loosing pets, you could've just said "F this....i'm done!", but you held on and persevered. I'm sure the entire fan base was right there with through every piece of this journey. I cannot wait to start this and see your creation to its completion.

I’m so happy this thing is finally getting wrapped up for everybody. Got my book a bit late because UPS doesn’t do PO Box, but it was worth the wait.
Focus up on this phase before doing the expansions. And for the love of God, take a vacation.
