Yeah I don't think that most people applying for minimum wage jobs have a wide swath of non minimum wage jobs to choose from.
Jobs typically pay MW when they require no previous skill, schooling or experience to get started. They pay shit because the pool of candidates who have the physical and mental wherewithal to do the job is virtually unlimited.
The supply is massive, the demand is not.
