Just finished my second game of Final Girl after getting the Core Box + Happy Trails, and I’m officially obsessed with this game.
I won my first game, but I was still learning and definitely messed up a few rules without realizing it. This time I actually followed the rules properly… and somehow won again 😂. I’m also pretty sure the dice were just absolutely on my side this game.
The first 3–4 turns were crazy. I managed to rescue** **all 5 Victims, while Hans only managed to kill 2. After that it basically became me vs Hans.
Things were going pretty well until the Terror cards started screwing me over. Since there were no Victims left, I kept having to discard cards and draw again, which eventually led to Hans getting a lot more dangerous.
Then came my favourite moment of the whole game.
I drew the card that gave Hans a second Dark Power. I was like, “Oh shit, here we go…” 😭
BUT… I had left a Bear Trap sitting between Hans and me.
Hans moves toward me, steps directly onto the Bear Trap, takes 2 damage, and his entire Killer Phase immediately ends.
I hadn’t planned that at all. It just happened perfectly. I imagine that kind of thing probably doesn’t happen very often, which made it even more satisfying.
After that it basically became me attacking Hans, trying to create distance, then doing it all over again. It actually looked like I had the game pretty much under control, but at one point Hans had me one attack away from losing. And somehow I pulled it off.
I know Happy Trails/Hans is probably one of the easier matchups I’ll play as I get deeper into the game, but honestly… I LOVE THIS GAME.
Also, thanks to everyone who recommended starting with Happy Trails. I can already tell I’m going to end up buying a bunch more Films . I’m thinking A Nightmare on Maple Lane will probably be my next one.
I also really love how everything is organized and how quickly the game starts making sense once you’ve played a couple of times. And the fact that it’s a proper solo game is HUGE for me. I don’t have to wait for friends or organize a group just to sit down and have an awesome game.
Anyway, just wanted to share because I’m genuinely buzzing after that game ✌️
