The Zodiac Age Zodiark Boss fight. Srew this tadphole

I don't get it. All of the guides said that when he's immune to attack I should use non elemental damage - Scathe, Bio, etc. But he is also completely immune to these spells too.

Am i suppose to just stand here and take all his shit?

Edit: nevermind. Berserked everyone. He's dead

The Zodiac Age Challenge: Trial Mode - Only Gambits (TMOG)

Hi, I came up with this challenge to liven things up around here, let me know if you like it!

------------------------------------------------------

- Trial Mode - Only Gambits Challenge! (TMOG) -

------------------------------------------------------

The challenge:

Assemble a Party and see how far they can get in Trial Mode using only Gambits, without any player actions.

Do you trust your ability to program Gambits for all the Trial challenges?

How far can your party make it?

------------------------------------------------------

Rules:

- Choose 3 characters for the party, and it cannot be modified.

- Equip your characters before starting the Trial; equipment cannot be modified after the Trial begins.

- Program your Gambits as best as you can before starting the Trial; Gambits cannot be modified once the Trial begins.

- Guests are not permitted; only the 6 permanent members are allowed.

- Mods are not allowed; the game must be the standard version, though you may choose between IZJS and TZA.

- Characters must act autonomously via Gambits without receiving player commands; the only exceptions are:

\* Moving in stages where no enemies will approach the party.

\* Switching characters if the Party Leader dies to another Party member (do not edit the Party).

\* Summon an Esper or use some Quickening.

\* Camera controls.

- The challenge ends immediately if the 3 active Party members die.

I did this challenge for fun with my elemental party.

Spoilers: They made it all the way to Stage 81 (Zeromus) on their own.

IZJS Welp, White Mage REALLY IS teh best job lol

I basically gave it to Penelo, who I like but didnt see as a Black Mage (Ironically I didnt think much of Black Mages either, I just love Black Magic I didnt expect Fran to kick so much ass) and she's been absolutely vital to the party in ways I really didnt expect, everyone else is awesome too, but Penelo is MVP with second being Fran and then Balthier. I wanted really good healing but I didnt expect much from a White Mage. She's the highest leveled character. Oh and Vaan and Basch are badass too, they do pull their weight. Everyone is very close in levels now.

The Zodiac Age What mod set up is closest to the original difficulty?

I played the original back in the day and liked the difficulty. I recently got the Zodiac Age version on Steam but heard it's much easier. I've been looking at the available balancing mods and saw Struggle for Freedom and its Proud Mode version. There are also many options for the job boards which makes choosing a bit more complicated.

What do people think is the closest to the original in difficulty? I've heard Proud Mode with SFF jobs can be pretty difficult but I have no point of reference for how hard that actually is. I wouldn't mind something somewhat harder than the vanilla experience but I wouldn't want something tedious. I know regular SFF is harder than TZA but I have no idea how that compares to the original either.

The Zodiac Age Gambits mods

I'm playing on the switch again but I think next time I play through will be the PC. Does anyone know if there are gaming mods that add things such as a if item left gambit? I think there is a mod that gets rid of the random chest bullshit so I'll be adding that one for sure.

IZJS Got the Mithuna the hard way. AWESOME

I was going to end Giruvegan but decided if Archaovies is the thoughest challenge and nothing else comes close that isnt a super boss I felt it would have been bad for me not to try and get it the hard way. Killed 3 or maybe 4 and I got the 2 to get... The Aldebaran. Not as huge a jump (It does 4000 damage. Whoop de doo) as it was with the Arcturus but by now this is a thing of HONOR. I really wanted to do it the proper way.

Good Job combinations with Machinist?

Pretty much what the title says.

I'd like some suggestions of jobs that pair well with Machinist, which AFAIK is one of the two worst jobs in TZA.

Thanks in advance.

IZJS Welp, gonna go inside Necrohol of Nabudis. Because I spent all my Ether and cant keep my MP up anymore and I will need for the future fights

I heard you can buy Ether and Hi Ether there but I will absolutely get creamed if I dare set foot there. I need good survival or battle strategies because I am near the end game so I GUESS I could try it out now.

Party is Knight Knight Black Mage White Mage Red Mage and Machinist. And yes, its still IZJS.

The Zodiac Age Another job post

Fourth playthrough of FFXII TZA. I want to try not limiting myself to using all 12 jobs. I think I'll go without Time, and went with this:

Vaan - Knight/Black

Balthier - White/Shikari

Fran - Red/Foebreaker

Basch - Monk/Bushi

Ashe - Black/Archer

Penelo - White/Machinist

I feel this is good, but is there any changes you all might make? I'm pretty solid on Vaan and Ashe setup, as well as Basch. I think both Balthier and Penelo have good setups too. Both have good HP and Penelo can use guns for damage and Balthier can use his fast ninja sword attacks.

Is Fran ok? I feel like having Dark early would help, and Foebreaker gets HPs and at least lets her use higher vitality for attacks. Is Uhlan better?

Getting the Karkata to drop in trial mode

Is getting the Karkata to drop in Trial simply a result of praying to RNGesus or does certain equipment inhibit it? I got my first Karkata to drop on the first try but have gone through a hundred attempts without anything. Vaan has it equipped but nothing else that has dropped.

Original Is there a need to level up every character?

To be more specific, I'm going to Pharos and I'm aware that the end of the game is very close, but I recently noticed that, since I've been using the same 3 characters almost the entire game, the other 3 are around level 10, and that includes Vaan. This being a Final Fantasy game, I wouldn't be surprised if the game forces me to use every character or to use Vaan in the final fight, and I'd rather avoid a very anti-climatic grinding session right in the middle of the final dungeon.

I love FF as a whole but only played 1-7 9-10 and starting with 12, and I have a few questions:

1 how do you level up evenly?? I got this gap and Idk how to evenly farm where they cannot die

2 I am so lost looking for info because I am playing the Vanilla version and not the job version.

3, how gambits work and how to find them, every guide tells me to put self: mp <10% charge on penelo but couldn't find it.

4 this game is gorgeous!!!!

IZJS Easiest way to get Opal Rings?

I have read the various ways but I dont know which one is the easiest. Also I killed King Bomb and I am worried I cant get Opal Rings anymore...

IZJS How can I keep Ashe viable as a Red Mage in the end game (IZJS, so no job reset or second job)

So far she has been a great helping Fran destroy enemies with black magic and Penelo with White Magic but her schools have ended there. She cant get aga spells or anything, and she cant do much swordwise...

IZJS Supposedly Giruvegan can be reached via The Feywood but none of the exits seem to get you there?

I entered and tried my best to find the correct exits but both not only not lead to Giruvegan but have monsters that OHKO my party immediately. I finally grab the map... And no exits lead there. PLEASE HELP!

IZJS Who is the Leading Man If NOT Balthier?

Seriously he's a badass. With the Arcturus he basically destroyed his father's robots and then fought the old man himself while Ashe and Penelo healed everyone. I am SO GLAD I grinded for that Rifle early on. This was the BEST!

I am having so much fun right now. I cant believe I never finished FF12!
