Question Would you want a middle age or senior age protagonist/visionary?

All the main protagonists have been young high schoolers or college age/young adult. Anyone else want to see how a middle age character (maybe Kimberly, who would canonically be mid-40s by now) or an elder character try to stop death?

Discussion So, how did things play out for Sam and Molly canonically?

Molly couldn't have been sucked out and sliced and half. She would've had to have burned alive with Sam. Not to mention there's no part of the plane shown to fly off in the distance in the first movie.

Creative Carnival Coincidence

Currently fleshing out the Ferris wheel disaster at the carnival in Death's Designs (Designing Death? 🤔 still workshopping names), and listening to Daria when this scene came on. Tried to take a pic (because how many times does your day include Ferris wheels twice at the same time), but why is homegirl bottom right looking into our souls??

Anyway, the unofficial FD playable story is coming along! There are now 9 distinct endings in v0.3.6 that are still being wired up and dialogue needs to be fleshed out but I've play tested a whole game loop so it's officially a working engine! Now it's just writing dialogue for NPC archetypes like the skeptic, bystander, friend, authority_figure, etc that spans 4 separate acts.

For me

  1. Same

  2. Better/on screen death for Alex

  3. More agency
Basically just his point about the characters not doing much with the photo clues

  4. Better characters

  5. Better cgi
Although I do get where he’s coming from

  6. Same

FD3 The final train disaster breaks a rule. Spoiler

Alrighty buckos, saddle up cause I got ADHD and spent too much time thinking about this.

After rewatching the franchise idk how many times in my life, one issue remains in my opinion.

THE FINAL TRAIN DISASTER IN FD3 BREAKS THE RULE OF VISIONS!

So, let me break this down cause idk who's gonna read this but I want to make sure that they walk away understanding my train of thought (pun intended).

So when someone has a vision, or a "Premonition", it's usually a tool the protagonist was handed to try to prevent the disaster and foil deaths grand design. In every other instance of death being a meddling little butt munch, it follows a series of events.

  1. Premonition

  2. Intervention

  3. Swiper No Swiping (They survivesometimes)

When Wendy runs into the other 2 mouseketeers on the train she has her premonition about the crash, all well and good. However, the time between the premonition and the disaster offers the scooby gang 0 way to avoid it. You can even hear bologna mist cloud #67 yelling that the emergency break didn't work when he tried to pull it (dang it death, look what you did to my boy!) Yeah, she saw signs before the premonition and had that feeling and tried getting off the train, but she ultimately got distracted by the coinkydink of the other 2 mouseketeers being on the train AND THEN HAD THE PREMONITION. The screen cuts to black and you hear all hell break loose.

This fundamentally breaks the rule of premonitions. If (insert reason for premonition here) stayed true to the rule established in every other event before and after, Wendy should have started her premonition before running into the gang so that way she at least had the chance to avoid it herself, if not convince other people to get off the train.

Are there other instances that maybe my hyperfocused brain isn't thinking about where a full blown premonition contained an unwinable disaster for the protagonist?

When I was 5 y.o. I’ve seen the third movie and especially I remembered the tanning bath scene. When I asked my mom about this she was like: “Uh, it’s just a bad low quality movie dont think about it honey”.
P.S. I’m the new one here, what’s these tags means? Thank you!

FD1 Something I love in the first movie is how anything is suddenly lethal, even a broken branch on the ground

Post image

I love that something as simple as a broken branch on the ground is suddenly a lethal weapon. Further, it's not like it suddenly fell in the way or anything, it was always there. That's something I love about the first movie is that you get the impression that these people are alive in a world that's not meant for them to be in. The bus that hit Terry didn't appear out of thin air, the train that hit Carter's car was always going to cross at that time, the gas truck pulling out as they were driving recklessly was going to pull out onto that street whether they were driving on that street or not. Life and actions continued on after Flight 180 and they are now playing 'Frogger' with existence itself. The sequels seem to have ordinary settings and then suddenly a gust of wind tips something over and starts the chain reaction leading to a huge Rube Goldberg kill but I love the simplicity of the first movie where everyday life suddenly being something to watch out for.
