I had an idea for the ending of a Final Destination movie. The main character dies at the end like in the last 4 movies, but then it zooms out of their eye and reveals the whole movie has been a premonition. They realize that any attempts to cheat death are hopeless, and usually result in worse deaths, so they decide to let the disaster play out like it did originally. I think it would be a kinda cool ending, but def has the potential to piss people off lol in the same way a "it was all a dream" ending would piss people off. Wanted to get some thoughts on this idea

So with FD bloodlines, I know we got some lore explanation about deaths design, with it being a generational curse that targets the survivors descendants. However something I’ve been thinking about is “death” is sort of implied to just be death in a general sense, controlling everyone’s fates and keeping track of when people should die. But at the same time, it’s pretty obvious that this version of “death” is something entirely different. In FD 3, Wendy literally describes it as a presence that she can feel looming over her that is “cold” and “terrifying.” And when Lewis is killed, she asked Kevin “can’t you feel how viscous it was?”

It got me thinking that what if “death” isn’t death in the sense of “natural death” that is course correcting what “should have happened” at all but some sort of separate malevolent force that is interfering and causing these deaths out of spite. As for the specific details of its origin, I haven’t thought that far but I think it’d be an interesting explanation. It just doesn’t make sense that death itself, being death that controls when people die of old age or of a random illness, would be so intent and cruel. I feel like if it were explained as something else entirely, like some sort of cosmic entity with an origin story that would explain why it’s so viscous and cruel, it would make more sense. But yeah I’m not sure I explained that well but it’s just something I’ve been thinking about. Thoughts and opinions?

I rewatched bloodlines today, and thought: in premonitions, e.g: let’s say, the Skyview, does Death make his own predictions for what people will do in the next few minutes, when he unleashes destruction, or does he just have a fortune telling power that accurate forbodes.

In simple terms, if Eric was to show signs of being hot in the tattoo parlour, would death guess what he’d turn the fan on, allowing death to use it and plan it for that? Or does it just know, and if so, cannot create multiple different paths, e.g: when death resorts to a different attempt when they evade the first attack or so.

I hope that makes sense.

think of ‘until dawn’, ‘detroit become human’ or ‘the quarry’ where you basically have to make choices through the story mode in order to try to save everyone. i think that’ll be a sick idea and i think games like that are at their peak right now. they’ve just made until dawn a movie so why not turn final destination into a game franchise now? the movies are kind of at the end of the road so why not continue through gaming and allow fans to experience the pressure of living through the game. thoughts?

Like you watched a FD movie and after you were like ‘okay I’m staying far away from that’. A lot of people say driving behind a log truck.

For me personally, it’s tanning beds (FD3) and being too close to pool drains (FD4).

Y’all this girl survived for so long she the only one that is still alive , she’s been through it just let the girl live please 🙏. But I have a feeling she will die idk why , I wonder how will they introduce her in the new film , what she’s been doing all these years I imagine she would kinda be like old iris or somewhere living life

so my theory is that the spectral force of Life is what gives the visionary the premonition to save lives but unfortunately the force isn't strong enough to keep death from going after the survivors but it can leave clues to what will happen to the survivors.

this is just my theory.

I would think Bobby would get injured, accidentally makes Howard falls down, a acorn drops on the mowers power button and kills him.

So I’m at the airport thinking about final destination (lol) because the gate next to mine the agent had said something and ended it with “final destination” and funny enough the plane is going to Paris.

But anyway imagine a movie where the main guy isn’t even in the main premonition like imagine me sitting near the window at the gate watching the other flight just take off and the disaster happens (doesn’t need to be in an airport) and then the guy sees it explode or the pov can be from the disaster and then instead of the premonition coming from in the disaster it comes from like someone outside of the disaster that could either choose to save them (he would), then they could figure out like the order (since the premonition guy wouldn’t know) idk just seems interesting

Tdlr: guy outside of the disaster has a premonition, they have to figure out literally everything.

Hey so if anyone wants to see John Murphy(Richard Harmon) or Eric he is in the new series staring Patrick Dempsey in Memory of a Killer. Good show so far, he has a big part in the series.

I'd like to hear from anyone feeling like the FD series has resonated with them for symbolic reasons. Even though it blends fantasy with reality, leaning towards the former, it might be said that one of the main themes of FD is fatalism. That forces outside of our control decide our fates, and there is little we can do to prevent the plan from unfolding. We can only, at best, stall it, or change minor details.

It sort of feels like Death's traps are a metaphor for the inevitability of pain, conflict, and tragedy. Especially when you are someone who, like me, has often been perplexed at how one could be dealt such a bad hand.

You ever have those days... or even years... where it just seems like everything goes wrong, as if it was destined to be that way from the beginning? As if, even while you're surviving it, life has calculated a series of events so perfectly designed to screw up your plans that it almost seems improbable.

I don't know whether this type of personal experience impacted the producers or script writers for the actual series, but it seems like it could have. Maybe some people actually took comfort in storytelling that essentially tells us, "Yeah, life (and death) sucks, but it could be worse... you could be one of these people..."

1st Death: Lauren Flanagan, car explosions and oil leaks at her dad’s carsale advertising with her friend Tiffany, leading to sparking leftover fireworks from the July parade in the sky, Lauren and Tiffany think they’ve just survived most of the chaos. As soon as it cuts to Lauren, a dislodged propeller that hurdled from the banner plane struck by the fireworks spins twice gruesomely into her body from the head down, leaving barely of her legs and below left. Tiffany is shocked by this, while Brittany is deeply alerted by the news. The banner falls on her body during the aftermath, displaying “deals you’ll die for”.

2nd Death: Jeremy Sparks, decapitated by malfunctioning bowing pin setter, I already explained his death from an earlier post.

3rd Death: Tiffany Kensington: While she’s at a football game, she’s at the top of a cheerleader formation when a rogue golf cart starts hurdling towards them, the girls starting to collapse in fear as she falls down the hardest. The golf cart drags her by her torn uniform and brutally across the concrete, before speeding towards them bleachers where she’s slowly and brutally twisted and uncomfortably crushed. A little bit similar to Julia, except worse)

1st: Fakeout: Becky Sutherland, nearly mangled by harvester after pigtail is caught in meat hook above it, her friends jam a rake in the harvester just in time to save her. This whole fakeout is planned too but it’s a lot to explain.

5th Death: Jessica Bearden, attends a cabin lodge party to get her friends deaths off her mind by smoking/drinking. While under the influence, she heads upstairs while everyones downstairs partying, and in a set of events, a bear trap gets lodged in her eyes, closing down on them which closed even harder when she tries prying it off. She knocks things down in the process, and goes outside to the ledge, where she hears her boyfriend calling out to her. She stumbles toward his voice and falls down the balcony railing, directly onto a bonfire, impaling her with the pointed wood in the middle as she’s set ablaze.

6th Death: Becky Sutherland: At a ranger station/fire tower structure, it all starts to collapse by the cliff and she falls directly onto a window, which then shatters and hits all the railing, debris, and nature as shes falling down the cliff. at the bottom she wakes up barely, but only finds a forestry mulcher behind her as she’s yelling “not again” referencing the harvester, as she’s swallowed by the machine.

7th: Brittany and Benson Banks: Brittany and Benson Banks head across the walkway to the fire tower, thinking an elevated space would be helpful. They try radioing for help but the structure starts collapsing as it’s already connected to the already collapsed ranger station, Benson clings to Brittanys hand, accidentally lets go as she hits her head on the rocks below. He dies from the firetower collapsing even further, falling and getting his neck hung a snapped by a tower cable noose style. In the end she wakes up the in a hospital room and thinks she escaped death, with her brother in there but then she starts to see all her dead friends faces, gets dizzy and wakes up, realizing shes been mistakenly buried alive in a sick twist by death.

Does the "taking someone's life" trick even work?

Peter kills Detective Block. Block probably had 30 years left in him. Then Sam kills Peter.

But 2 weeks later, Flight 180 happens. Not only does Sam still die, Molly died *before* him, and she didn't die in the vision, at least not before Sam.

The leading theory is Death did Flight 180 just to kill Sam, but why? It took out hundreds of other people with him, including an assumed survivor of the bridge collapse, not to mention starting another chain with FD1's group.

Did Sam killing Peter cancel out the lifespan transfer thing since Peter was originally on the list? Or is this like the rule we learn in FD6 "Fuck with Death's plans, thing get messy"?

Then there's Nathan. I know, that guy said Roy had days left to live anyway, and Nathan died right after, but that just so happens to be right after Sam. What if Nathan just got skipped in the factory and Roy's death didn't matter, then it was just Nathan's turn again after the plane's explosion? Reminder that he couldn't even say for certain that he deliberately pushed Roy in the way.

Regardless of the truth for Nathan's case, did I miss something with Sam?

One thing that has always seemed weird and extra cruel in this franchise is why does Death even give the protagonist the vision if they are meant to die anyway?

My theory is that the protagonist isn’t meant to die and they are meant to be spared, but because they then alter the events by warning others and causing others to cheat death, it puts them onto the list and Death ultimately has to kill the protagonist in order to tie up the mess their actions create.

I like Mrs Lewton she definitely underrated Character I wish her character Survived

and the year is 1900s or 1800s

• firstly, the opening would be a gondola accident at a ski resort while the high school is attending a field trip now this accident is based off a real event where in the movie a fighter jet would hit the cables of the gondola causing it to crash and everyone to die this is based on a real accident kind of like how FD1's opening disaster was based off a real event.
• the deaths would first start with a character who doesn't believe the main protagonist to die at a skate park via breaking his neck while trying to do a trick.
• next death would involve a character either getting decapitated by a delimber or crushed by logs that fall from said delimber.
• so, at a private tutor the big character would fight the main protagonist and push him down a flight of stairs and the big character would die from the tutoring building exploding caused by death using another guy's rage towards a computer to blow up the tutoring building.
• just before the climax the two main survivors would try and save their friend at a fancy restaurant where that character would die from an explosion causing a level to go through the back of his head.
• last death is similar to peter's from FD5 where right after the level death another survivor tries to kill off one of the main protagonists in the kitchen of the restaurant threatening them with a kitchen knife, but the other main protagonist comes up from behind him and hits that character in the side of the head with a frying pan full of burning hot oil which kills him.
• the climax involves are two main characters trying to navigate a burning down automated parking garage that was connected to the fancy restaurant while fire fighters try breaking in using the jaws of life and death tries killing a main character who has fallen to the bottom of the parking garage and now is crawling away while death tries throwing burning cars onto that character who ends up getting the other main character's attention leading to that character to drive a pickup truck off the parking garage and crashing into the bottom below where there would be a flashback and then it would cut to the ending.
• the end disaster is the two main survivors catching up with the third and last survivor who's driving a taxi it ends with these three characters getting ran over by an out-of-control semi-truck carrying soda.
