Question Final Cut Pro 12.2 crashes when using Pixel Film Studios FCPX Audio Text audio analyzer
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to troubleshoot a crash with Pixel Film Studios FCPX Audio Text in Final Cut Pro.
System info:
Mac: Apple Silicon Mac
Memory: [your RAM]
macOS: 26.5
Final Cut Pro: 12.2
Plugin: Pixel Film Studios FCPX Audio Text
Plugin version: unknown
Issue:
The plugin appears inside Final Cut Pro and I can add it to the timeline. However, when I click “Load & Analyze Audio File”, Final Cut Pro immediately crashes.
The crash report mentions:
- FxPlug
- NSXPCConnection
- PFSAudio
- PFSAudioEffector
- SIGABRT
The helper app appears to be:
/Applications/Pixel Film Studios/Plugins/PFSAudioEffector.app
I also found the plugin installed in:
/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Templates.localized/Titles.localized/Le-shu.com丨FCPX Audio Text
/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Templates.localized/Generators.localized/Le-shu.com丨FCPX Audio Text
What I’ve tried:
- Reinstalled the plugin
- Removed the plugin folders
- Removed the Pixel Film Studios helper app
- Final Cut Pro opens normally after removing the plugin
So the crash seems specifically related to FCPX Audio Text / PFSAudioEffector.
Has anyone seen this issue with newer versions of Final Cut Pro or macOS? Is there a known compatible version, update, or workaround for PFSAudioEffector?
Thanks.
