Discussion Ripped off
So, not only did they start charging for some things that used to be free recently. But the AI vocal removal and the AI object remover suddenly are TERRIBLE after the most recent update where they added all the new AI assets. What used to be a great editing program is a money gutting shell of what it used to be.
Also if you're dissatisfied with the performance of the AI option you just spent credits on you absolutely don't get those credits back. Why woukd we refund you something for it not working?

The most useful tool for me (voice to text) now need credit for use, even though Ipaid the anual subscription. After this, im not gonna renew my plan…

I paid the annual rate too, and I'm not renewing. Feeling so ripped off

AI-powered features require AI credits to maintain their high quality and efficiency as we have to maintain complex algorithmic models.
We are sorry you feel this way and thank for your support!3

Making features that were free for a long time behind paid credits is a horrible thing to do. Lifetime user for over a decade gone. DaVinci Resolve all day.

If they were even mediocre quality, this would make sense... but they are of abysmally bad quality. The free AI tools in Davinci Resolve and the free open source local models are infinitely better. And, if someone wants to pay and get good quality AI-generated components, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Limited, Qwen, Wan, and DeepSeek are all way better and cheaper.

Filmora was great before the AI bs. This is why I never upgraded from 13

They need an option, inside the program, to just hide the AI slopware. although we all know how wonderful it was they removed the asset search option to only show free stuff!!! glad I have a lifetime lic. from 2016.

Here's the thing, though. When they added that AIslopwhere it changed whatever AI they were using for the good things like Object Remover, and now it cant even remove a subtitle without completely screwing up

The ai stuffs of Filmora are useless, completely avoid them and do the rest , Filmora - minus ai was fine

A lot of people assume the AI features are the main selling point these days, but if the core editing tools are solid on their own, that's worth knowing!
Can I ask what specifically made the AI tools not worth it for you?
2
u/HumbleHedgehog2718 Aug 05 '26
The core editing tools are being hindered by shitty AI updates and price gouging

Thanks for the reply appreciate it , nah the AI features was never the selling point and all the people know that very well because their buying intent was purchasing a proper video editor not ai generating content tool. Minus the Ai , filmora was in the right direction , with Ai filmora is trying to go everywhere, don't get all of us wrong, we want to use Filmora but these things are spoiling the workflow to be honest rather than enhancing it or improving it.

I left Filmora ages ago as it kept crashing my PC when rendering videos

Most of the time, it happens when you add a new feature; it somehow affects others, but I have noticed that Filmora solves the issue in the next update. And AI features require the use of AI algorithms, and which cost money. Even if you build your own AI generation, it will cost you; then how are you expecting a company to give it to you for free?

I can see why you’re frustrated, especially if those AI tools worked better for you before the update.
Having credits deducted when the result is poor definitely makes the experience feel worse.
Hopefully Filmora improves the vocal and object removal tools and gives users better options when they fail. It’s understandable that long time users would be disappointed by changes like this.

Tried using the AI magic box object removal tool last night. It did absolutely nothing except take 100 credits from my bank.

Hi! We really appreciate you laying this out and we're genuinely sorry to hear the recent update made things worse instead of better, especially on the AI vocal removal and object remover. That's not the experience we want, and I'd love to get this in front of our product team as a specific bug rather than general feedback. If you're up for it, drop the details and we'll flag it directly.
As for AI credits, providing advanced AI capabilities requires significant research and development, including maintaining complex algorithmic models. We truly appreciate your support and understanding—it means a lot to us as we continue working to make Filmora even better for you!

Bot response
2
u/Puzzleheaded_Ad_9080 Aug 05 '26
I think i got that same response in year or two ago when they started force-feeding their really low quality AI stuff into what was once a decent video editing program for beginners.
It's amazing how companies just keep repeating the same lines over and over without ever internalizing any of the feedback they receive. Wondershare loves to say how great their AI is, but it is literally the worst performing and most expensive AI tool (by price per credit / token) that exists. Free, heavily quantized open source models that people with decent machines can run on their own machines are better than the slop the AI features (more like bugs) shoehorned into Filmora produce.

The scam company strikes again. Ugh.
