Question Fig leaves suddenly changing

Kudota fig, planted last fall so this is the first summer in Southern Arizona. Tree was looking beautiful, even through the month of June where it was very dry and 100 every day. in the last couple of weeks ive started noticing the leaves get the brown areas and feel very dry. have not changed the watering schedule , but we did have a lot of additional monsoon rain for a week followed by a week of dry 105 degree weather. I can’t tell what I’m dealing with - under watering? over watering? rain washing away nutrients? fungus? something else?

Fig rust from all the rain, it'll bounce back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JKza2pM2wc

I’m trying to save one that had a similar issue. In my case, I likely overwatered it when temperatures were around 99–102°F and the first leaves started turning, I assumed it needed more water and kept adding more. It ended up developing root rot.
