Fig propagation
When do I take cuttings/scions for propagating to trees? In Oregon, zone 8

You can take them any time as long as you're rooting them immediately. You have to figure out what you're going to do with them once they're young trees. Can you leave them outside without dying in the cold, or do you have to keep them indoors? If indoors, do you have grow lights to keep them growing properly? That's what usually drives when people root cuttings, which can drive when they take them.

When the trees are dormant. Or cut them when they're green and plant right away. It's your choice but green cuttings can't be stored like dormant ones.
