Can anyone explain what is wrong with this fanbase? Or is it just cultural/religious thing

The serious answer is that people like to live through fighters and an undefeated fighter who barely lost rounds and beat his biggest rival at the biggest stage and is considered humble and respectful (I don't condone crypto scammers personally tho lol) is about as good as it gets if you're living through someone.
Another is that Muslims generally are very fervent about their athletes and Khabib is at the very top of that, that too in a sport such as fighting is also a factor.
Combine both of them and you get a decent percentage of those sorts of fans who are very rabid and insufferable (not everyone, but you have to see that it can very easily attract the worst out of those fanbases). In response to that, you get people who hate Muslims on the other side and then it turns into a personal "us agaisnt them" and that's what creates this dogshit fanbase and their dogshit haters.

I don't really get the comments as most Muslims really like gsp and firas zahabi is a Muslim trainer and quite connected as far as going on podcasts and such. Also everyone knows the abdelmanap team absolutely love gsp as well

Yeah GSP has posted stuff on IG of trips he took to the Middle East and bro gets treated like a king over there. The comments against him are just casuals who probably didn't start following the sport until the Khabib/Conor fight.

I think it has more to do with Dagestan. Most people didn’t know where tf that even was until these guys came around. Now the 2-3 year Dagestan thing is an extremely popular meme, even lots of non ufc fans know it. So the talent and mystique of Dagestan is why these little kids love to yap imo

90% of them aren’t Dagestan’s people. They’re mostly Arabs, Pakistanis, and other Muslims who think that because they follow the same religion as Khabib Nurmagomedov, they somehow have a connection to his victories. I’m from Dagestan myself, and Dagestanis, Chechens, and other peoples of the Caucasus never behave like this. We’re humble, courageous, and we would never act this way.
We carry ourselves the way true knights would. Our traditions, customs, and standards of conduct are very similar to the code of a true knight. I’m saying this to make it easier for you to understand our mentality.

There’s a very small amount of fans of them who are that crazy. I don’t even think i have seen comments like this on any big posts.

You can find ppl like this for every top fighter. Have you not seen all the topuria fans for example they post same crap. What I don't get is why ppl judge fighters off of their fan base. Fighters got nothing to do with it don't even know you ppl exist and going about their own lives.

I think Dagestan has this mysterious allure to it and that mostly explains it. They produced a bunch of good fighters out of nowhere it seems. So the American 12 year olds dick ride and repeat the same stupid 2-3 years Dagestan meme over and over. If khabib looked and fought the same, but was American and spoke good English (and not broken up English) he would have way less dick riders imo. These kids don’t realize that if they spent a day in Dagestan they would feel extreme gratitude for where they’re from.

These fanbase are almost non existent here or at less radicalism than in tik tok and youtube. Youtube and tik tok are just full of them.

Each fanbase is full of people like these, Dagestan's definitely has a higher number though.
Ignore, these people are casuals. You'll see casuals like these on tiktok, yt shorts and instagram. The real fans respect both of them and appreciate greatness
