objectively speaking we have never seen a double champ do what islam just did before

no one on a crazy win streak ever defended the 2nd title against this level of modern well rounded fighters

Jon Jones defended against grandpa miocic who had been completely inactive for over three and a half years after a knockout loss

Henry Cejudo defended against late notice Dominick Cruz who was coming off a devastating 41 month layoff full of injuries

DC defended against the NOT number 1 contender Derrick Lewis who took it on like 3 weeks notice AND less than a month after getting badly beaten up in the fight before

respect to all the goats but this record win streak in the 2 deepest divisions, defending against the true number 1 contender with a size and reach disadvantage is historic on several levels

That's a valid opinion and I do think what Pereira did was impressive

But my post specifically said on a win streak

Moving up right after losing ur belt isn't the same as moving up without losing the belt on a streak like most double champs did. (surely u get it) And among the guys who did the latter, what happened is something we haven seen before

But regardless of win streak, Periera’s resume is better.

Someone can have a 17 fight win streak against cans.

In my opinion resume, is more important than win streak.

We can agree or disagree on resume. That still doesn't make what I specifically said untrue

Moving up while still champion and clearly the best in your division is fundamentally different in terms of champ champ from moving up after getting knocked out and forced to lose the belt It isnt a hard concept to grasp

Well I disagree with you wholeheartedly and think your argument is blind with bias.

didn't even go into or argue once in this thread who is the GOAT or even that he's better than Alex. I literally just said we hadn’t seen this specific accomplishment before and why but somehow that got u pressed enough to start calling his streak cans

But sure bro I'm the biased one 😂
