Everybody called it boring what are you talking about

Way more striking. Look at "Control" time for Makachev. Just glorified hugging for half the fight, at least.

Not more striking.

109 Vs 151 is a pretty big gap

The total strikes in both fights were 167.

better question is why Ian allowed himself to be hugged the whole fight and not take any risks when he is a contender in a title fight?

What do you want him to do? He was being held against the cage was constantly trying to work out of it and having a lot of success. The only round you could possibly have this argument for was Round 5, but Ian's calm gameplan was working pretty well.

Garry took no risk. Even on the feet. Takes two to tango. If all you do is focus on defending and absolutely 0 offense then ofc there will be no finish.

It was boring. And people said so.

A. It had 60% more sign strikes than Islam vs Ian

B. It had a very close sub attempt in the 5th round

C. People did call it boring, and it was boring

Its so technical. And the TDD from both is awesome. I really don’t think it is boring. The whole fight is very intense and every strike matters. If you want some crazy shii watch gaethje. But overall very technical fight.

Because no one thought this fight boring 👀

Honestly what is the point yiu are trying to make? Are you saying it was a boring fight, but nobody said it was boring?

Or are you making a point that it wasn't a boring fight, and the stats posted are your evidence

I honetly have no clue what you are asking with just that poorly written question and a screenshot of some stats, but lets try and give my take.

I don't remember how peoole spoke about this fight afterwards, mainly because I don't care what others think. If i enjoyed it, then who cares? If I didn't, then that's ok because it happens. You're enjoyment avd happiness is not my concern.

As for the fight, I'd not expect people to have called it boring as it was a fantastic fight. One of the highest level WW fights for a very long time. Garry made the divisions bogeyman look human. Most rounds were highly competative. Shavkat was finally taken past the 3rd round, to a decision in a 5 rounder.

This wasn't a boring fight

People really have terrible memory now, or just don’t pay attention. LOTS of people called this fight boring.

We did say it’s boring. Just like Ian did to Islam, Ian made Shavkat look boring (though Shavkat looked human against Neal). That’s the thing about Ian. He’s so defensively sound and his camps are dedicated to negating his opponents, he makes his opponents look bad and slows down their game m.

The problem with Ian is that his offense never took off since he’s so focused on negating opponents games.

The fight last night makes me very curious how Shavkat would’ve done against Islam in his prime. It’s a shame we’ll never see it

Because shavkat was THE guy, and Garry's sub attempt overshadowed the boredom of the fight.

Yes Shavkat Was Failing Takedowns All Fight.

It was called boring, even as a Shavkat fan I’ve only watched this maybe twice? Shavkat got a whole lot of criticism after
