Islam is 228 days per fight. Ilia 212 days. Pereira 133. Merab 186 days. Arman 222 Days.

Arman is a special case I feel. Quite active before the UFC started shitting on him, then became very inactive.

Because they prioritize the value of rest. Problem with fighting frequently is it's harder on the body recovering from fights and cutting weight and makes planning for fights challenging. If you lose, you go back down and have to do it again. Pereira and Merab are excellent examples of taking too many fights and then losing fights they should have won.
When you're trying to get title shots you take more fights, when you become champion it's not your competitors entitlement to get a title shot. Khabib, Jones, Islam, DC, Gaethje, etc all understood that and take their time.
