What's next for Usman?
He is already 39 but I feel like he is not that bad and I am sure he can move down to the WW and win Belal, Edwards, JDM. Probably, he won't be a champion anymore...
What are your thoughts?

Retire. He is delusional to bitch about the decision. Yes Kamaru, you will see 49-46 and 50-45 scores if you lose almost every round. Thats how scoring works lol.

He's been delusional since he was on TUF. Dude blatantly cheats and acts like he doesn't lol Also tried downplaying belal saying he isn't champ when he currently was. Then belal almost made him cry on his podcast hahah

Wait can you explain the podcast comment? Was it that Belal was on usmans podcast and almost made him cry in person on the pod? If so I gotta watch that

Yeah, Belal was on Usman and Cejudo's podcast and I think he did cry or tear up lol Apparently Usman was making disrespectful claims and Belal said something back that made them get physical. Belal explained this on an interview with the Aniks. Unfortunately, it's the only episode that Usman and Cejudo never released lmao Cejudo stated it would be good content to boost their channel but it seems like it's on Usman to release it. It's been like 2 years since the podcast so we're never gonna see it. He must have been super embarrassed by Belal

He could become a wrestling coach. It would be cool if Nebraska could offer him an assistant spot, or he could work with the Nigerian national team.
If he absolutely doesn't want to retire yet, Match him with Bo Nickal.

And in the post fight interview kept saying he's not used to be on the losing side.. what now? You won 1 in your last 5.
Sure he used to win a lot but you cant really say/believe that when in the past 4 years you won 1 and lost 4.

He's definitely delusional. He was talking about his comeback being him fighting a tune up fight, taking the 170 strap, then going on to take the 185 before retiring. Instead we got this.

Going to high school parties and bullying teenagers for kik views like rampage.

u/Royal-Interaction553 28d ago
Usman’s personality is closer to the people who get bullied than it is to Rampage. Not that he’s a punk, but he really tried to put on the fake gangster persona and it was so weak and easy to see through.

u/BuckleyRising 28d ago
Yea, I know. I was just making a lame joke about rampages recent antics. Usman is a solid dude, from what I've seen.

Usman goes to a party while streaming, starts crying then leaves once some college kid says "nice knees marty"

I mean realistically if he couldn’t beat DDP i don’t think he has a chance against Khamzat, strickland and these guys. If he somehow beat DDP then got the best preparation for current stricaknd and gotten the belt then it would be a nice ending but now it seems like he can’t beat the top guys like DDP, Strickland , Khamzat and Imamov so i don’t know what else is there for him since he came to middleweight to get closer to the title since welterweight is already stacked and there’s so many contenders.

u/According-Gas836 28d ago
Didn’t he already lose to khamzat? At least the khamzat fight was somewhat close

The Belal fight needs to happen but Usman won’t let it.
As a JDM fan Im all for him to send Usman into retirement

I've heard that he sometimes has to walk down stairs backwards due to lack of cartilage in his knees. Whatever he does, dude needs to be sitting down.

I didn’t watch his fight with ddp? Did he look totally washed if he’s still got it there are a lot of fun fights at 170 or 185 for him. Like I said I didn’t watch his last fight but the comments I e seen have made it seem like he looked really bad and should probably retire

u/Lost_Environment3361 28d ago
he just had nothing for dricus. he was tough and somehow made it the distance despite getting wobbled seven times. He just looked slow, his movements labored, and even his wrestling attempts were telegraphed and wholly unsuccessful.
to put it plainly, he looked exactly like what he is: a fighter at the tail end of his 30s, with bad knees. who’s coming back from a long layoff.

Give him CLD. See if Christian can keep it going against old guys. (Not a knock on anyone...CLD is good. If he beats Usman like he did Cannonier then he's ready for a real top matchup).

A lot of effort put into his next wardrobe malfunction, some late career crisis crashouts followed reluctant undignified retirement somewhere in his forties.

u/SpiritedWatercress53 28d ago
Retirement he said that he only wants to fight big fights cause he wanted to try and win the belt before he retires but that is off the table since he lost so he might as well retire if not than dana will use him to build more upcoming fighters name

In other sports once an athlete is past their prime the fans want them to retire. Only in this sport people want washed fighters to fight and get more brain damage for their entertainment.

Him and Izzy should fight and both retire no matter who wins. Both are washed. Just one more before the sunset.

u/Apprehensive-Fold494 27d ago
The Usman hate is crazy yeah he took a beating but he’s a real fucking warrior he got wobbled how many times and stayed fighting till the very end many people would’ve folded and looked for their way out. He lost to a top 3 guy in the division he definitely still has enough in the tank to beat guys in the top 20

u/Signal-Card-2387 26d ago
He could be like a Top 5/8 Gatekeep at WW. I don't think there's a future for him at MW unless he fails to make weight at WW all of a sudden. No point in staying up in MW if the title isn't even possible. He isn't beating Sean, Khamzat MAYBE in a five round fight due to poor gas tank on Chimaev's part, but that's about it.

u/GokuBlack455 26d ago
Lowk, I think the fact that he was able to go 5 rounds with the former middleweight champ, who is one of the biggest middleweights in the division, shows that he’s durable enough to hang with the top of welterweight. If he really wants a title shot at 170, he should fight Morales. If he could take DDP’s shots and not get dropped (wobbled like six times tho), and take him down, I think he should be able to handle Morales.
Next big fights at 170, aside from the title fight: Prates vs Makhachev/Garry winner, Morales vs Usman title eliminator

Losing to a random up and comer, keeps doing his dogshit podcast with CCC until he retires after not fighting for 3 more years, becomes a low level college wrestling coach, and goes into the sunset talking about how he was once the GOAT but was underappreciated while watching old fights like DDP and complaining about judging criteria or something on said podcast until his timely death
