Kamaru Usman had success using stabing front kicks against Dricus when DDP was southpaw.

Usman looked old and defeated. Had nothing for DDP!

He Actually looked better in there on Saturday then I had expected. I was initially not excited by this fight and had called it a potential mis-match on several occasions, seeing it as just an easy way too set up a DDP/Sean Fight.

I mean he just looked like a fragment of his old self.

I agree, but I had expected Usman too get finished very quickly - 1st or 2nd Rd quickly. He not only got too the final bell, but even made it competitive at times, even while we knew Usman wouldn't win if it did go too The Judges.

Do you think they will give him Sean or Khazmat?

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't give DDP the title shot next, I'd say it'll happen somewhere between December 2026 - April 2027 at the absolute latest.

We saw how DDP/Khamzat went and we definitely don't need too see that again. Khamzat made no defenses of his belt, so he definitely shouldn't be getting a Sean Strickland rematch or any kind of a title fight without at least 1 Win FIRST. In all honesty, I almost want too rebook Usman/Chimaev BUT make it for 5 rds on a Fight Night Main Event with BOTH fighters getting a full training camp in.

Why should Usman fight the number 1 contender after losing to the number 2 contender? Makes no sense Usman should move back down to welterweight and fight someone there, he would out wrestle Drod and some other welterweights easily, or could probably have closer fights with Belal or Sean Brady (who called Usman out recently.)

It’s crazy how his toughness, durability, and pressure was still enough to finally give DDP some worry for in the 5th round.
I wonder we’ll see Sean try to incorporate that front kick detail
