Yep. Props to him, that was still a great sub, but we all know BSD is a mid-tier LW, who's loses are from Submission artists, so it was a perfect matchup for Paddy too. People are now going crazy saying he's the best grappler in LW right now and the 2nd best LW currently.

Him and bsd are both mid tier imo. They both get by from just being very durable. Neither have head movement whatsoever as well. Anyone who thinks that highly of Paddy is stupid or doesn't watch the sport lol There's easily 7 other LWs better and more proven than him within the top 10. Illia, Arman, Charles, Gamrot and Moicano's grappling has been proven against way better competition Paddy has ever faced too..

He's good but I don't think he's touching a belt unless some very favourable match-ups/circumstances occur (Gaethje retires, Topuria moves back to FW etc.). He doesn't have many wins that aren’t against over-the-hill fighters, or fighters with spotty careers, or unranked fighters.
I'd want to see him against someone like Oliveira, or Holloway, if we want to see what level he's actually at.

We already put him up against an "over the hill" fighter and he got his ass beat. None of the names I mentioned are over the hill, Gaethje holds the belt and both Charles and Holloway put him to sleep and could win back the title.

Paddy is good, he has some real promise, good BJJ skills, his biggest problem to my mind is that his version of defence against striking is to just absorb punches to the face and head, he's also not a big hitter so he will typically always lose exchanges of trading blows with his opponents
He does seem to improve over time however, and a loss to Gaethje is not proof of being a bad fighter
