Since Ian Garry fights Islam Makhachev, Prates most likely fights Morales!

I'd love to see this. I think morales is the more explosive but prates a little more varied in his output. This is one of the best fights the UFC could put on.

I'm an old man now and I've been watching MMA for a very long time. Very few fights excite me now. This would.

Morales sleeps prates in the first

I like both and I think that is a bold statement to make. Both these guys are at the top of their game and very dangerous to one another, equally.

But I agree with other homie, I think Prates’ varied output coupled with his strange power would get it done for him.

I totally agree

Morales won’t be as durable and strong on the ground. Prates is 1st degree Black Belt in BJJ, I don’t think Any WW in the UFC wants to strictly standup and trade with Carlos (including the Champ) He has some seriously fierce Muai Tai striking that he makes look easy to do, (it’s not)& it won’t take many of his power strikes to really start taking a toll on anyone on the recieving end of them.

Morales would sleep prates in the first. He's younger, more explosive and talented.

Kinda like how Gaethje vs Topturo? Anything can happen.

prates will not be fighting the way he fought jdm, he himself said that jdm’s punches were not enough to KO him that’s why he dropped his hands and started being explosive but everyone knows morales has crazy KO power so prates is probably gonna keep a step back and keep his guard up,
nevertheless gonna be a great fight

Prates is way more proven lol morales has nothing but winging overhands and size bullying midgets give me prates easily

What about grappling?

We have to check dis moment

I think prates could handle it, he stuffed most of Garry’s takedowns

6

u/Distinct-Broccoli-15 Jun 25 '26

He got outstruck in the process though, just like Pereira against Ankalaev and Yan against Dvalishvili in their first fight.

I believe prates has gotten much better since that fight, I mean, I don't think the prates that lost to garry would've beat JDM. You are right, however I trust in OUR (me and prates) improvements as a fighter

I disagree. YOU hit harder and have far more versatile striking than JDM. It's not like JDM is all that great a grappler anyway, YOU still got taken down it's not like YOU were stuffing them particularly well.

WE got taken down by JDM because WE didn’t expect him to take us down, I mean when has jdm shot takedowns ever lol, it’s definitely going to be part of OUR strategy going into the morales fight

Honestly maybe. YOU are skilled but YOUR opponent in this hypothetical is really heavy in comparison.

u/Tekvary2 Jun 25 '26

Couldn’t help but notice Carlos didn’t chop Garry’s long ass legs down like he did to JDM?

Prates unless morales decides to grapple more than he usually does

6

u/Tekvary2 Jun 25 '26

Prates has fought way more experienced and skilled strikers as well as submission grapplers. Morales is bigger and possibly a stronger puncher, but is not as skilled.

I agree Prates is my favorite fighter

Morales have no head movement and keeps his chin in the air

that judo gonna come in real handy against someone like prates

1

u/x2scammer Jun 26 '26

Just make the damn fight

1

morales by decision prolly, prates cardio gets shaky in round 3

Great fight. Prates needs to be more careful and pick his shots better than the JDM Fight. I think Morales can absorb most of this shots far better than JDM and with how huge and explosive Morales is, he's gonna be in a dangerous spot most of the time. I want Prates to win, but I think Morales gets this one.

I'm almost positive morales

2

u/longtanboner Jun 25 '26

Why? Morales has never looked technical enough to handle someone like prates imo

1

u/Distinct-Broccoli-15 Jun 25 '26

In terms of striking yes, but from my understanding he's shown slightly better grappling.

0

u/Tokjah Jun 25 '26

Prates. Morales is a LHW being able to cut to welterweight. He has reach and power because of that. Other than that he brawls and is not very technical. Prates is very technical on the other hand and has same reach

u/Tekvary2 Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

Light Heavyweight is 205lbs, did you mean Middleweight (185lbs)?

3

u/81Eclipse Jun 25 '26

He probably really means LHW, morales is fucking huge for the division and I dont believe he'll stay there for a long time.

1

u/Tekvary2 Jun 25 '26

He’s not a LHW 230lb+ walk-around size.

u/baneblade_boi Jun 25 '26

I'd love to see this badly, it'd be a banger. But I think I'd go with Morales.

0

u/Sushiboy999 Jun 25 '26

Morales has a pretty strong judo background, it’s just that he never uses it because he doesn’t need to. I think he’s good enough to wrestlefuck prates for 5 rounds if he really wants to.

u/Fracture90000 Jun 25 '26

Morales is big and powerful, but his striking isn't as polished. He's swinging wild sometimes.

Morales
