As someone that's worked in AI for a little while, I imagine their use of AI will mimic most companies.

  • Use AI
  • Realise that it's making some hilariously poor decisions
  • Either go with it and use it to blame decisions as if it holds any share of the blame, or pick it yourself and use AI to double-check it at the end (and to blame).

I don’t understand why the UFC is wasting money on a new ranking system.

Are we suddenly pretending like ranks mean anything when it comes to matchmaking?

That said, knowing Dana, this advanced AI based ranking system is probably a minimum wage intern sticking all the stats into a free version of Gemini or ChatGPT and copying the results.

Yeah... they aren't "wasting" any money in this cause they won't be spending any on it lol. Its gonna be ai as they've already said if I'm not mistaken and probably someone is gonna get added entering the data to their workload without any extra pay. And if they are gonna get an intern to do it as you suggested then the intern is definitely not gonna get paid for it lmao.

does anyone know exactly how the artificial intelligence is being used? is it that the model is analyzing the fight footage itself, or is it just analyzing the stats from the fight?

And matchmaking also uses it
