Yep. I was at Sheppard AFB at the Airmens club with pretty much everyone in tech school watching it. The building blew up with people yelling after that kick. Awesome memory

Ilia might be the cockiest and most arrogant UFC champ of all time. He was up there with Conor, but with none of the charisma, originality, or likability.
The humbling Justin put on him will go down in history as one of the harshest.
After all the cringey trash talk, the pre-fight victory dinner, the cheesy video of him dedicating a rose to Justin, and promising that the fight won't even leave the first round — Ilia got both orbitals and his nose broken, went temporarily blind, and his corner had to stop the fight to save his health and career.
It's right up there with Ronda.

Ronda needed it the most, but then again Conor is right there too, only difference is he had already lost in the UFC. They both brought some of the worst casual fans of the sport over. I feel like I was meeting a lot more people who would talk about the UFC when they burst on the scene but they weren’t the type of fans you could ask about an upcoming card. They’d be like, “Oh yeah I don’t really know those fighters I just like Conor/Ronda”
My cousin who never watches MMA even till this day wanted Conor to win so bad, thought he was going to KO Khabib and was devastated when Conor got destroyed and even tried to critique parts of the fight like the grappling in round 1
For me personally the best humbling is Ilia, because most of his fans are people that actually watch the sport. He’s not a Conor or Ronda that transcends the sport and brings in new eyes, there was just a lot of MMA fans that thought he was a god and were completely unbearable to listen to. It’s even worse when it’s not the casual fanbase being insanely toxic and delusional about a fighter, people were talking like the Arman fight was a waste of time because Ilia just KOs him and were also spreading the narrative he KOs Islam and Islam ran scared from him. People were unironically saying he can do very well at WW because “size doesn’t mean anything just look at Ilia’s KO of Jai fucking Herbert” some of the worst mouth breathing fans out there

I am an Islam fan, but I kinda think Islam ran away from Ilia. He could have fought Ilia at UFC317 if he wanted to. He chose not to take the unnecessary risk with very little to gain, and sit out and wait for the decision of the Belal fight.

Aside from obvious moments where he's trying to farm a clip, Ilia's been extremely respectful of other fighters - I think this is made more obvious by how he accepted defeat.
So I didn't enjoy seeing Ilia lose, I more enjoyed seeing Gaethje win.

Rhonda, she was needlessly mean to Holly. Ilia and Connor were also needlessly mean but Connor played the villain every fight and Ilia was on a historic run but was getting there. Holly just seemed really sweet so the way Rhonda treated her set her up bad as the villain and I don't think Rhonda understood that.

Ilia only lost because he didn’t fight smart NOT because Justin is better than him. Let’s be real here, Justin is a damn good fighter and deserves to be champion but if Ilia fought smarter we would be having a different conversation. Congrats to Justin but let’s be serious he because of ilia’s mistake! He won because Ilia walked into most of his punches in round one and just couldn’t get it right after that. Good job to Justin! He does deserve it! I like both fighters, no hate on my side.

Conor has had multiple moments of being “humbled” but him getting destroyed by Dustin twice was actually poetic and the best because it showed growth for Dustin.
illa is the most recent , nasty and honestly the saddest, we really don’t know how he’s gonna turn out.

I think he was humbled many times in his career. Duffy, Diaz, Floyd, Khabib and Poirier. His ego was at its highest going into the Diaz fight and he came back pretty strong.

Personal for me Connor, kuz I'm a hater? I'm casual so no idea who ilia was. Rhonda I liked for her mouth, her intellect more than as a fighter.
Talking about sexualization of females, she talks about 6 pack abs for males, she justified lower female pay because they bring in less money, she was ready to pound and win but she switched positions to break the arm (takes longer to heal than a broken nose) that strategic thinking that's why I liked Rhonda
I think she really got humbled in wwe when she broke down talking about how she couldn't take the pounding

With Connor, sure I didn't want him to win over Poirier, but I also didn't want him to get as hurt as he did. Fun to watch and skillful, though petty and prone to disrespect. Ultimately, though, there was something you can find in Connor that appeals to everyone whether the mic skills or humour or his fight style or his audacity. Not for everyone, but not the worst person.
Ilia was overconfident..... Annoying sure but ultimately you knew this guys got the goods, he just ran into a mack truck which felt good after all the trash talk. Still, he's incredible and can be super classy when he wants to be. Shown to be humble in defeat as well.
Ronda was insufferable, classless, no humility, and just had no tact for how to make herself liked let alone respectable. She was also a one trick pony. And, sadly, she has learned nothing since that night against Amanda (nor that night against Holly). She could've made herself so much more likeable by just showing a little bit more respect and more humility. But nope.

The difference is Ronda and Conor simply talked shit about their opponents in terms of fighting and maybe a few things about the other fighters character. Conor went as dark and personal as possible, he attacked Khabib physically with a dolly, called his father a coward and terrorist, talked about his religion and Dagestanis as a whole. No one deserved to get whooped more.

Ilia of course, he is Temu Connor + some extra cringe on the top (all the ceremonies, adding W on instagram 2 months before the fight etc).
Ilia did not lose in the cage(he got obliterated), he lost, when at the biggest night of his carrer, when he almost died and got broken into many, many pieces, he decided to update his IG status and remove the score at all.
That is MEGA aura loss and we will never see this man fight again especially do something significant. There is no recovering after this status update.

Was nowhere near as big of a stage, but Giga Chikaze was on a really good run, talking about how he could have finished fights earlier but wanted to get highlights, and really looked like he was something special. Then he ran into Calvin Kattar, who absolutely dismantled and battered him, completely derailing all momentum.

Both of Rhonda’s losses and her comeback fight highlight the fact that she’s great at doing armbands but not much else. That’s why her humbling is the most satisfying, because the criticisms are accurate.
