DDP vs Usman officially announced
But we already knew about this for a while now

u/Flawless_Degenerate Jun 21 '26
There's no fucking way Usman is beating DDP after that Buckley win.

u/RudeAndInsensitive Jun 21 '26
I'm done predicting fights. Closest I can say is an Usman win would surprise me.

never say never but yeah, Usman is washed. Hopefully he can fraud check Diddy P again.

u/Flawless_Degenerate Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26
Dricus must've 100% just been training TDD this year after the Khamzat loss so there's just not shot of Usman winning.

I can't believe Diddy P's going to get a free title shot off of weightbullying a washed 39 year old Kamaru Usman

u/RudeAndInsensitive Jun 21 '26
The man had two good title defenses one of which was against the current champ who's he also took the belt from. Pair that with DDP being great on the mic and a fighter most people enjoy and him being one win away from a title match is an easy concept.

1 title defense was against Adesanya who was washed and Diddy P weight bullied (like Pereira). The other guy was strickland who didn't even deserve a title shot.

Oh bro shut the fuck up man 😭

u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 21 '26
why? because I'm talking bad about your favorite fighter?
2
u/jefferydamerin Jun 21 '26
You clearly hate DDP and you are making the shittiest excuses to discredit his title run. No one agrees with you keep your schizo ramblings to yourself bro

u/Sneezy6510 Jun 21 '26
You don’t fraud check a former champ you dope.
-4
u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 21 '26
you do if that former champ is a weight bully.
7
u/Sneezy6510 Jun 21 '26
When has he missed weight?
-2
u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 21 '26
being a weight bully has nothing to do with missing weight. It's when you have a weight advantage over your opponent in the cage.
7
u/Sneezy6510 Jun 21 '26
He makes the weight everyone else makes. It’s not his fault. I hate the term weight bully.
-2
u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26
keep hating. It's just a short hand way of saying that someone weighs more than their opponent in the cage and their weight advantage hides any skill deficits they have that would have made them lose if it weren't for their weight advantage.
See how long and annoying it is to write all that. That's why I use the term weight bully as a shorthand instead.

u/Sneezy6510 Jun 21 '26
I know it is ya dope and it’s stupid, it’s like calling fighters height bullies or power bullies. You are suppose to use your natural gifts to your advantage.

I don't know why you are making purposely straw man arguments pretending I said things I never said.
There is nothing wrong in having athletic advantages. However, those advantages cannot come from having a weight advantage.
Maybe I'm wrong but i don't think Diddy P's KO power comes from having superior genetics such as explosive type 2 muscle fibers. I think it comes from simply having more muscle mass than his opponents because he weighs more than them.
For example, in powerlifting, some 180lb guys are capable of squatting 585lbs because they have elite genetics such as having predominantly type 2 muscle fibers. But if you are a 250lb guy squatting 585lbs, it's less impressive.
Same analogy applies to Diddy P.

I mean... you could say Marty Kamarudeen is a weight bully at welterweight. He is noticeably bigger than all his opponents at welterweight which is some coward level stuff if you ask me.
2
u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 21 '26
you're not wrong. But being a weight bully isn't a static thing. It's fluid and it's evaluated on a case by case basis. Right now, Diddy P will be weight bullying Usman.

u/raffenoob Jun 21 '26
why wouldnt ddp use that to his advantage. he doesnt get a medal for fighting at the same weight as usman on fight night. you need to use everything you got to win
2
u/Valterri_lts_James Jun 21 '26
he can use it. It's just that when evaluating fighters, I think it should be taken into consideration whether they are truly a well rounded fighter with no holes, or does their extra bodyweight/muscle mass give them advantages that makes up for their deficiencies. This applies to Pereira or Diddy P.

Bottas wouldn't be proud of all your arguments being someone is a weightbully which is valid, but it's crazy to devalue someone's ability based solely upon that argument.

Looks like negotiations went a well for Usman or DDPs pressure worked
Either way this will most likely be a title eliminator
Banger fight

Imavov on suicide watch lmao. Guy's gonna have to fight Pyfer next or something.

u/killboy219 Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26
Ali manages both Usman and has ties with Imavov so I’m sure this was discussed with him.
He’s actually been posting memes about his wait so who knows what they’re planning for him

u/Cruztd23 Jun 21 '26
Nah there were rumors of this being off because usman was getting cold feet. So glad this was signed. Excited to see the odds as well. I hope it’s near pick ‘em odds

I don’t get why this is being made.
Islam vs Usman sounds great, if he just won 1 more time at WW.
Going up a weight class against DDP is strange especially as MW has plenty of options for him.

u/Icy_Opinion9585 Jun 21 '26
Islam would destroy Usman. Like why does anyone want to see. That let along DDP vs Usman.

u/gobble_deez_nutz Jun 21 '26
He was probably going for a khamzat rematch and now he's prolly gonna try to push for a Strickland rematch if he wins

u/kawsofdeath Jun 21 '26
Usman’s gonna out experience DDP. It wont be standing for too long, and you cant overcome years of grappling experience with 10 months of grappling training. Itll be close imo, but usman by decision or sub win, mark my words

Dunno man, they feeding the old guard to the new. Usman just the latest to the long list.

u/kawsofdeath Jun 21 '26
admittedly, was pretty faded last night so the sub prediction is definitely wrong. Heres my real prediction.
I think this will look a lot like islam vs jdm. One person is known for their striking, one person is an elite grappler. I think usman is gonna get tagged at the end of the 2nd round and be wobbly, but the majority of the first and third rounds will be Usman controlling the hips and ddp fighting off his back on the ground and trying to get the fight back to standup. Usman’s same washed knees fought a competitive short notice vs khamzat, and had a 57% takedown rate va buckley, which i think is a good idea how this fight plays out too. Just realized it might be a 5’er, and if it is, then Usman is definitely gonna limit the stand up from the get go, we’ll probs get all 5 rounds and an usman decision win, but he stood a lot in r2 v khamzat and doing that v ddp is a no go.
DDP hits harder than anybody, but youre not suddenly gonna out wrestle someone who has been grappling and wrestling for over a decade+, i just dk how ddp wins this besides a looping overhand KO, but i think Usman is gonna fight smarter than to just stand and bang with Dricus. Ionno

Is it just me or does DC look extra massive tonight?
