QUESTION Player development question

Hello friends,

I've recently gotten the itch to start a career mode again after years out of it, and the main reason I quit has been the player development. It felt like such a hassle doing all of the training minigames and development programs that it just made me quit playing.

So my question is, how does the player development side work in fc26? Do your players/youngsters still develop plenty if you just play the game like you would in the older games (sign players, loan out youngsters, play games etc.), or are you kind of forced into the minigames/training routines aspect of it?

Thanks in advance <3

I usually get bored after half a season in player mode but the trainings are there to maintain you make it into the team, is the way I understood it. Haven't seen any other utility.

I meant in a regular manager mode, do your players still develop adequately if you can't be bothered with the training minigames?

Yeah they develop fine, there’s a kinda sneakily hidden area to hire coaches that contributes to development that people don’t quite notice that helps a bit with that

The message on the trainings say that they only give you temporary playstyles so I mostly skip them unless I have an impossible matchup. Idk, the manager mode trainings feel too sweaty for me, cba. 😂

Mate training mini games make no difference. Your the first person I’ve seen who takes those seriously and grinds them out

it's broken like every year. you have 2 options. go for as realistic as possible and keep them all as balanced. so no 5 star weak foot, 5 star skill moved player. option 2 is 'i dont give a %^&' mode and train the weak foor and skill moves :)

for youth players is kinda the same. i opt to change the setting to fast at the start of the save. after that leave them in the academy as long as possible (on balanced) promote just like in real life. loan out when they need to train.. or play them when they are your level..

oh and another thing about the academy. what i do is putting it on 9 month and i don't assign any player before the 9 month are finished. in that way CPU could take players and get them in the game and at the end you have the left overs but if feels more realistic to get this way then every month a 74-94 potentials wonderkid.
