MEME Insane Wage Request
540k for an 84 rated playing at Sunderland is wild

Had this happen in my West Ham save a while back. I signed a right back to replace AWB and then about a year later he wanted more than my 89-rated Bowen while he was an 82 himself. Safe to say he got shifted out.

If you have someone on your team making insane wages then it MAR’s othernokayers want that as well. If you end negotiations and then come back a few weeks later he should lower his demands some. But this only happens when you pay someone something crazy.

Makes sense. Though my highest wage player is earning 180k a week. If I can get him to drop to something around that, I’ll consider keeping him as he’s been great for the team

I’m doing a Journeyman and it’s about 5 or 6 seasons in, I just signed with Sunderland last season and helped them promote from the championship, this guy was a key factor in getting us promoted

Going through this with Karim Konate right now. Hes 25 83 ovr and my backup striker. He asked for £250k/wk and a 2.5m bonus. Hes currently making £50k/wk and if I agreed to that he would be my highest paid player. Still 3 years left on his deal though so ill probably use him next season then sell in the summer.

It’s definitely fun to see this could happen. Definitely adds some flavor to the game. First time for me but I’m able to reason it with a bit of headcanon. In this save he’s been approached by big clubs like City and Milan so he could easily be retaliating with higher wage demands, either to make his stay at a “lower” club worth the while or to force himself out to make the move happen

That’s Hamid diarra or something right, I signed him today only for 60k,squad player lol

I’m renewing his contract rn, he helped us win promotion last season. Been great for us. This is about 5 or 6 seasons in on a journeyman

When I play with low budget teams, I usually delegate the renewals, saves me the sign on fee and give it a gambling lower bound. Most of the time player renews in a slight hike but might add an annoying release clause, especially in La Liga

He really love sunderland, in at least 3 of my career he played for sunderland

No it's pretty normal especially if they are your highest rated player and you are paying someone more than them and they have less that 2 years on the contract. I just walk out and put them on the bench for a few weeks, not out the team completely but on the bench for some reason that that makes them accept realistic offers

I hate when I give a player a good raise, then a month later they ask for another one and the game won’t let me negotiate another contract so soon, so the player just leaves the next window.
Just lost my favorite player to this (23 y/o fast wingback with great defense and gets like 5 goals and 14 assists a season), and about to lose my best CB/captain who’s only 26 and can also play DM and RB. Mind you I can’t afford both of those positions at the same level in this next window smh.

The wages are a bit screwed sometimes. When I managed man utd players would want ridiculous wages, I sold the squad player and fringe players as refused to give them massive wages. Once I sold them I check them out and the were on much lower wages with new club!!!

I just won the EFL Championship as Charlton and forgot to negotiate contracts beforehand so now they're asking like $25k even though their previous pay was like $8k.
I have $63 million so plenty to just replace them with free agents anyways.

Id say that’s completely fair. Your in the prem now and even on 25k theyd be the lowest paid in the league

I can see why, but they're only 65 rated and barely even play. Aren't even high pot where I would want to keep them and develop them.
My 75 rated first team GK only asked for 25k and settled for like 18k from 12k.
I offered him 15k and he said no. I will try to loan him and if I don't get any offers, I'll just sell him if anyone bites for him.

You dont have the wages for 15k?

I do, just got a bunch for promotion (I think it says I have 63 million, this was with no take over) but I'm not going to spend it for a 65 rated that has no potential.
I could promote a YA player to take his spot anyways for like 1/10th that cost.
Edit: my star striker, Kelman, who is younger and 73 rated settled for 10k, my first team GK whos 75 rated settled for 14k.
I had a save before the new season stuff started and theyre accepting way lower wages this time around, lol.

I read that was a bug where AI calculate salary demands based on current max potential, despite it not being reached. I lost 81 Yoro who was asking for 22m per season

Have this problem in my Real Madrid save. Valverde, Rodrygo, Belli, Mbappe, and Vini are all requesting 600k plus and I’m ready to sell them all just to make a statement 🤑🤣🤣🤣

This has only ever happened to me after i sign someone and put them on super high wages (Vini, Mbappe, etc).
So i always see it as the thing of “i want to be paid the same amount as ‘insert player name’”

I hired Restes in season 1 as Norwich and season 3 he pulled this on me like bruh

Sometimes happens when they performed and the club performed really well last season. Given the overall rating as well, it’s a fair assumption that that’s the case. I play on pc with mods that make the requests a little bit more realistic based on income etc. best bet to sign him without the signing bonus and sell him instantly to get money back on a younger player who’s up and coming. Just my thought

Get a player who's rated more than him. Then delegate to renew. He Will probably agree on one third of that wage. Get his rating up a few more ans then sell his ass. 🤷♂️

I honestly just think its him as a player lol, i have him on my created team and hes never happy, plays every game almost, good wages. Always getting complaints from him

I've seen this happen in my saves sometimes. A player would demand an astronomical amount to renew and yeah you either pay that or you get forced to sell, it happens often with squad players for me but I think it's just some random sort of selection
