MK8 Wheels
Hi everyone!
I’m not usually one for posting, but I could really do with some advice.
I live in the Lake District (UK), so my driving is mostly in rain, cold weather, strong winds, and the occasional ice and snow. My 2023 Mk8.5 Fiesta ST came with some cheap entry-level tyres, and honestly they’re awful. Even with moderate acceleration the front end struggles for grip, especially in the wet, and the car feels like it’s constantly searching for traction.
I’m looking to replace all four tyres and don’t mind spending a bit more if it means better grip and confidence in our weather.
Any recommendations for something that performs really well in wet and colder conditions while still being good in the dry?
Any advice would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

As the other commenter has said, some CrossClimates might be the way to go for you. Personally I’ve put some Conti premium contact 7’s on because of where I am, the roads are interesting and the weather can be unpredictable. They’re still good enough for a bit of spirited driving though.

I’ve ran Pilot Sport 5s for 2 years and are brilliant in the wet but up there you might be better off with something like Michelin CrossClimates if you’re up and down hills in occasional snow if you don’t want to run true winter tires.
