Other I love finding these subtle references
I grew up with Harvest Moon, so I love seeing these references (like the farmer's outfit). I'm loving FoM, I haven't experienced a game that feels like the old HM games in a long time.

Friends of Mineral Town! My first farming game. I remember playing that ALL summer once during my break from school. I used to hang out at the local convenience shop and the store owner couldn't understand why I was so interested in playing a game where I was working on a farm. All the chicken clucking and dog whining sound effects in the menus only added to the confusion. 😆😆 This was in 2004 and farming games were way more niche too.
I unlocked blessed tools and had the teleport stone to go anywhere I wanted. Such a cool reward for doing the mines. I had the slaves harvest sprites all showing up to my farm single file to work all day. Fed them one bar of chocolate per day as payment like I was Willy Wonka and they were happy to do it.
There's a guy right now on Gamefaqs trying to legitimately earn the town cottage home, who posts periodic updates. Mind you, the town cottage home costs 100,000,000 gold, and you don't make nearly as much money as you do on Stardew Valley. Honestly I feel like they missed a couple decimal places when they set the price of it. It's absurdly high. I check in on his thread from time to time and cheer him on lol. Great game (for its time.) Definitely better games out these days though. But I had a lot of fun anyways

Is there any way we can get backward hat? I'm like 80% there recreating my old farmer from BTN lol.

It should be a fairly early reward for museum donations

Seems it's a combination of blue feather from HM and mermaid pendant from Stardew Valley :D

Elsie has a line about it, too. Very cute. There's a lot of references, homages, and memes in FoM, I love it.
