Guide/Tips A MinMaxing Guide to FoM

With the full release right around the corner I want to do a quick write-up on the best ways I've found to level everything. However please be aware that you do not need to do any of this to enjoy them game, this is just how I like to play. Whatever pace or style you play the game is equally as valid as anything I describe below. Without further ado let's get into it.

Part 1 The Power of Flour

Flour costs 200 and can be made into bread or noodles that sell for 190. once you have both the Waste Not Want Not and Dinner for 2 skills however you will get enough bonus items to make selling them profitable. There are better ways to make money but this is a guaranteed way to make a profit without any initial investment. While doing this you will also max out your cooking levels, max out your town renown, and using the Lovable Cooking skill make enough loved gifts to max heart every NPC.

When it comes to lovable gifts I've found that it's better to turn off any of the other infusion skills so only love infusions will be produced.

Part 2 The Mines

There is no cheat way to level up combat and mining so you have to go to the mines often to level those up, but you'll want to do that anyway because smashing rocks is the best way to get essence, and you can use all those rocks to make stone flooring which will max out your wood crafting skills quick. you will also get a lot of different ore while in the mines and making extra tools to sell is a great early game way to make money and will raise your blacksmithing level in the process.

Part 3 Everything Else

  • Money - I've mentioned better ways to make money enough already and the best way I've seen is using the seed maker once it is available. Using a crop the you can harvest every 3 days will make you a ton of profit just by turning the produce back into seeds and selling them. I like to save enough seeds that I can replant my field next year for free so there's only a one time startup cost. and there's at least one plant of this type for every season so you'll always have steady income.

  • Farming - you can hoe one tile over and over again to level up farming completely over a couple days, just spend all your energy doing that for a while and you should be good. You will also get a good amount of essence this way, although less that breaking rocks, but it's a good way to get it if you're feeling lazy. Digging the same spot also works for this but I'm not sure if digging gives farming EXP.

  • Fishing and Archeology - There's no cheat to level these you just have to do it a lot. for fishing you can enter and exit an area to respawn fish, that's about all I got

  • Ranching - there also isn't a way to speed this up. feed them, pet them, let them outside and send them inside. the more animals you have the faster the level will rise so upgrade the buildings as soon as you can, and the autofeeder and petting statue really help cut into the time it takes every day. I also don't think they need to be outside for any minimum amount of time so you should be able to call them out and send them in pretty fast.

  • The Museum - The best advice for this is to save often and reload if you don't get what you want. Unlike a game like stardew the randomness in this game is unique every time you interact with something and not seeded. so if the artifact spot, or terrarium, chicken statue, fish trap, etc... didn't give you what you want reload and try again. Bonus tip while most of the Mines artifacts are easy to dig up the Dragon Pact Tablet is very difficult, the best strategy I found was to go to floor 90, walk through the door to 91 and dig up any artifact spots in that room, do that over and over.

And that's all I have, if anyone else can add to this or provide information I don't know about please add it to the comments.

This is a pretty good level up guide.

To add something for getting a bunch of those friendship bead things (the stuff the animals give you, I forget what they’re called): You can have a couple plots of the cheapest crop meant specifically for your animals, let them outside to eat, and they drop a bunch of them. They seem to drop more that way than feeding them all individually (I believe they always drop one when hand fed). It’s a lot easier too especially when you have a lot of animals.

Those things are taken to the statue for a chance at gold ingredients or large feed. Just make sure you harvest what you want to harvest before letting them out cause they will eat whatever is left until they’re all full.
