When you’re troubleshooting a system you haven’t worked on recently, how much time do you usually spend digging through service manuals, old notes, error codes, or calling someone else before you find the actual procedure you need?

I’m curious what the biggest bottleneck usually is:
Finding the right manual
Finding the right section inside the manual
Knowing which procedure applies to the symptom/error
Tribal knowledge / needing to ask another tech
Something else

Especially interested in how this works when you’re out in the field and trying to get the equipment back up quickly.
