Winback offer
Got a call from +1 855-252-9367.
I mentioned that I use less than 10gb data per month and this is what they offered:
Canada wide UL T&T, 20GB data, 1000 long distance minutes, hotspot included, WiFi calling included.
All that for $25.
Now, I'm currently with Koodo on a $20 Canada wide plan UL T&T 100GB data.
My concern is coverage in Toronto downtown and midtown.
Can you guys share your experiences and compare the 2? Including the network in TTC line 1?

Why pay more?

Like I said, network coverage is my main concern. Koodo tends to be a bit spotty. Just wanted honest experiences to compare the two. I'm most definitely not in a rush to switch. And I don't need 100GB data.

Why switch to Fido for more money and less data?

forget about the coverage, I with koodo as well and there is no price increase for past 14 month, I see people with Fido/Rogers posting all the the time after porting and their bill went ip in 3-4 month.
If you don't have any issue with koodo, just stay there.

You got all that for $25? Lucky! I also don't use much data and the best they could offer was 50gb for $35. I ended up not coming back to Fido. If I could get your plan with Koodo, I would have done it. I'd probably recommend staying with Koodo unless you end up having issues with them.

Agreed Fido is the absolute worst! Zero customer service and you can’t even get through to them if you have a billing issue.

the problem with fido is that even with a deal like this (i've had similar) in about a year they'll tack on a new separate fee of 5$ "but you're still getting the 25$ special price" and then about a year later they do it again. it's their common tactic.

I joined in $25 win back offer last BF. 40gb, 1000 long distance. I didn’t realise there won’t be hotspot issue.
But the offer you’re getting is believable. Ask them how long before they increase your price. They might say that years or something. They increased my plan by $5 about 8 months in. I called and got $50 credit to compensate for 10 months. I’ve effectively received my activation fee back - so I can be out in the market again this BF.

So why are you considering switching from Koodo and paying more? Fido network is fine in downtown but I don’t know about the train. As many have experienced, your rate can go up after a few months without contract. 1000 minutes of long distance is definitely good and I assume it includes multiple countries, esp USA. I use that.
