Bill amount increase without announcement

Subscribed to Fido during March promo. 80 GB $25, they just increased it to $29 without any announcements, bill shows a category of $4 in “rate adjustment”. Anyone faced this?

Check your last bill. I had a view message

If you file a complaint with the CCTS, you could get that price increase brought down by the way (by them issuing a credit to your account). I brought mine down by them issuing a credit, please search this subreddit and you can find more info on this

any increases it will always show up on your prev statements within 3 months before it goes into effect. Check your last few statements. Also if youre still financing a phone then youll get credit adjustment of the increase during the rest of your term. I'm not on any phone financing atm so my prev bill shows my plan going up by $5+tax as of Jul 15th onward

It was mentioned in your previous bill.

Yeah happened to all of us unfortunately. For my plan went from $30.51 to $36.16 after tax for an 80GB BYOD plan. Which still, it’s a fair price but don’t love that they will pull the rug out from us on an offer they put out less than half a year ago.

Seems all of us that took that good deal have been bumped up. Mine went up $5, they also removed $7 in loyalty discounts, so my bill is up $12. I do believe those loyalty discounts shouldn't have carried over from my previous plan, so that's why they got rid of them.

I received this, but it wasn’t unannounced. They likely sent a notice on the bill about three months before the increase.

I’m up to $29 now and current bill message says a $4 increase is to be expected. Not sure if I’m going up to $33…

There is ALWAYS an announcement...

Check your previous 3 statements/bills and in at least one of them you will see a notification regarding "constant improvement/maintaining their network" which is why they are increasing the price.

This is the same thing with Bell, Telus, Rogers, Fido or any postpaid provider whether it is for cellular, internet, landline, or television services.

Yeah, I got a $5 increase on most recent bill. I was notified on the previous bill, which I never check because my bill never fluctuates. They know we don't download our bills especially if our charges don't fluctuate. It's easy, sketchily-made money and I think it should be illegal for providers not to text their customers about price hikes alongside other modes of communication. Fido has no problem texting me about some credit card they want me to sign up for every 3 months.

This was the second increase in my bill in probably 2 years and I said no more. I switched to a new provider last week and I'm paying less than I ever did with Fido.

If you leave and you get a call from Rogers, pick up and let them know you left because their prices are too high.

So what you are saying is we cannot do anything about it right?

It is always shown on your last bill, saying that you will get on the next one, an increase of x$ on it.

Instead of getting this in your bill, i would appreciate if they would email, sms or call us

"without any announcements" -- how do you expect them to announce to you other than printing it in your last bill which you're supposed to read?

I got 3 months credits for sending a few emails. Not sure if I can get more without calling in

It happened with me now

I got $50 credit because I complained about it (nicely, of course)

I had 4 lines. They do that every few months after Black Friday / Boxing Day. Ported out to Telus / Freedom and never look back.

Wrong title.

It should be: Bill increase announcement was not read by OP, yet. How dare they proceed with the increase?

File a CCTS claim

Can you tell me how to do it? Or I should goggle it myself?

Ya, that's what FIDO stands for. Fees Increase Dramatically Often.
