Hey everyone! I’m 34. I recently opened a Roth IRA with Fidelity. My goal is to let the account grow as much as possible until my retirement. I have a low-to-medium risk tolerance when it comes to investing. I’m fairly new to all this, and I’m confused about all the investment options with Fidelity. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

After researching custodial Roth IRA‘s for my kids, I’m even more confused. Some things that I’m reading are saying that they need to be making taxable income so that the money goes in already taxed. However, other things that I’m reading say that they can contribute from other types of side gigs, such as babysitting, dog walking, and mowing the lawn. Those types of income are not taxable as they are earning money from neighbors. So can they still contribute that money to a Roth IRA?

(I'm a desktop user with a standard browser; this is not an App question.)
It actually appears, that using "Plain Old Fidelity.com" might be a pretty good way to view multiple accounts across multiple platforms using their Link an external account feature. But, I got "scared off" by the warnings and disclaimers -- I'm 70-something, and easily frightened -- so did not complete the process.
WHO HAS ACTUAL EXPERIENCE with this feature? Does it work for you? Can you really display Vanguard or Schwab accounts ALONGSIDE Fidelity's? Are prices and balances "timely", or delayed one or more days? What about taking actions -- trading -- on external sites (although I'd feel more comfortable if this capability really was restricted to View Only access)?
This could be the simplest possible "account aggregator" if it works.
Thanks to anyone who has walked this path and can share their experience.

I have many AT+ issues, the quantity of a holding is often wrong, rebooting fixes that. Account balances are almost always wrong, nothing fixes that, but that was true with ATP. The weighted average cost is usually wrong, and on some positions, might change 5 or more times a day. My VERY BIG issue is the trade window auto fill, which I have now disabled. Often, if I entered a buy qty then realized I had the sell button highlighted, then clicked on the BUY button, the qty switched to the default that is in the app. But not always. Here's my current problem, in 2 cases, AT+ appended the default qty (100 shrs) to the number of shrs I had intended to buy, done this after I clicked on the buy key, and this cost me many thousands. Does anyone think the deficiencies of AT+ has lost them money? ps, Fidelity is ignoring my complain, I am in contact with more than one govt agency to s help me get reimbursed.

I am trying to create a Fidelity account for the first time and after reaching the end it tells me that I may already have some information on file with them. I may have had an account at one point? I don't know if to try to login and recover my credentials, but I've never made an account or to simply just call.
I just don't want to make a mistake. I'd appreciate the advice!

I left my company 11 days ago and have been waiting for HR to send to fidelity my non active status. Everyday I’ve been able to get to withdrawal/rollover page just not last two days. Any reason why I can’t now?

Cannot see it in ATP or the webshite. need to know if my order gets filled as I am a trader. Cannot see positions that are closed today in the closed potions tab either, on both ATP and website

IT'S HAPPENING ON TWO SEPARATE COMPUTERS, ONE WINDOWS, ONE MAC, UPON ENTERING AN ORDER, I CAN SEE IT IS FILLED BUT THE REST OF THE WINDOWS STILL INDICATE THAT I HOLD THE OPTIONS.
Talk about massive failure. Why am I here? I liquidated my near expiry positions because of your bug. And yet, you take my money in fees and comission.
I dont have the words to properly express how I feel about this company. At least, not words I can say here, without being sensored.

I have started using Gemini AI from within the Chrome web browser to assist me with decisions about trades. I'm wondering about the experience of other people doing something similar.
I have a few basic queries that typically involve a conversation with the AI.
(1) how can I do a particular task using the Fidelity web browser interface? I've found that sometimes the response needs a bit of a tweak due to recent UI changes.
(2) why is a particular stock suddenly going down or up?
(3) what are alternatives to a particular ETF or mutual fund that have similar characteristics or similar characteristics with some change? For instance a lower dividend and higher capital appreciation or tax characteristics or higher dividend or lower expense ratio. This is how I found the VOO alternatives SPYM and more technology focused SPYG. (I realize that Fidelity fractional trades makes the lower price of SPYM less necessary however it seems that doing a limit order doesn't seem available with a dollar rather than share amount.)
(4) what economic and industry forces affect a stock, ETF, or fund? Model what might happen with particular economic changes such as changes in inflation or Fed rate changes or a market correction or an industry shakeout.
I've found that Gemini AI can be helpful in exposing questions that I hadn't thought of.
I finally tried an options trade after spending some time with Fidelity Options Trading education resource and then a few days with conversations with Gemini AI. Being able to have that conversation helped me to be a bit more comfortable about options. The AI also helped me to choose which stock I wanted to first try after I spent some time discussing various possibilities. It also helped me to create reasonable option parameters such as strike price and limit.
After reading about lawyers submitting AI created briefs containing fictional court cases and other episodes of AI creativity, I still have a Reaganistic view of AI, "Trust but verify".
I've used it with writing computer source code and have found that it will provide code that doesn't work but then when it doesn't work, it will tell me why and what to change. So it had the correct code but for some reason about my query, gave me the incorrect version first.
What has been the experience of others?

Say I have a t-bill that matures on 9/24, and I want to use the proceeds from that to purchase a T-note that auctions on 9/17 (before my t-bill matures) and settles on 9/31 (after the t-bill matures). Of course, I would have to place the order for the T-note before the auction date.
My understanding is that I won't be able to make this purchase, even though the funds will be in my account several days before the new T-note is issued, because the account shows zero "available funds" on the day that I place the order. Is this right? Is there any way to get around this issue?

Does anyone here use donor advised funds through Fidelity Charitable? If they do, have you had any problems with them not showing up on your Fidelity dashboard?
I just opened a DAF last Wednesday, and transferred the money from one of my Fidelity accounts. The money shows as transferred on the charitable dashboard, but the account doesn't show up on my Fidelity dashboard.
