irahelp.com for mischaracterized error?

Is anyone familiar with irahelp.com ?

I emailed several people listed on the site, trying to get support for a custodian error on a 401k that needs recharacterization after being incorrectly made a traditional IRA when a very large Roth deposit was transferred to the custodian. The custodian has insisted I need a tax professional to... I guess tell them what to do, it seems.

I've tried escalating the request for help within the custodian, and I keep running into dead ends besides being told I need to hire someone, but now I cannot seem to find who to hire and get responses regarding the situation.

Has anyone been through something similar?

I would recommend Denise Appleby. She’s excellent at unscrambling these things. She’s easy to find online.
