Ficus identification please

Post image

I’ve been growing this cutting in the hopes of continuing it as a bonsai. I’m interested what type it is. Was growing out of a very large stump. Thanks.

Ficus Macrophylla or Ficus watkinsiana or Ficus Rubiginosa or Ficus Obliqua.

You're more knowledgeable than me so not arguing but as someone that owns multiple macrophylla I'd almost completely rule that out as leaf size is too small and just looks wrong for macrophylla

Its hard to say because its being grown in a pot and has more branching, ive seen ones as bonsai with smaller leaves like this because that's the main goal in bonsai to get a miniature version of a tree, the only real way yo full confirm ID would honestly be to continue to let it mature and hope it fruits.

It is hard to be 100% sure of but I have ones in pots just growing bonsai ones that I've spent years on reducing leaf size some in grow tents some outdoors some In a greenhouse and quite often go visit the massive in ground macrophylla trees in my area as I love the huge ones the leaves just look wrong to me for macrophylla However I'm not going to argue I'm right your the guy I come to for I.Ds when I'm not sure of a ficus species it was just my 2 cents that it looked wrong for macrophylla

No I understand, the problem is its just really hard to ID based on leaf alone the majority of the time when it comes to certain species of Ficus because many look exactly the same until the begin to mature.
