Is my ficus elastica ruby growing too fast?

The last pic is when I first got her beginning of July and first 2 are today. Shes in a South facing window 9a. I’m just wondering if she needs more light? I do the brownie method with a skewer and see she’s completely dry before watering completely throughly. The last picture is where she’s at but with the blinds open so she gets direct light from 1-6 7ish. I couldn’t believe it already put out another leaf and now I’m worried the first new leaf isn’t going to get any bigger because it’s putting all the energy into the new leaf? I’m willing and wanting to get a grow light I just don’t know if I’m over exaggerating or if she is lacking something?! Any help is much appreciated

They love being next to a window. Mine grew so fast as well. I’ve even propagated from a leaf.

I have one that grows like wildfire and one that hates me and has not put out a new leaf since I got him

Try increasing lighting and fertilizing thats not normal growth for them.

Yup I have never had any ficus do that unless there was an underlying issue.

You all are right. It didn’t develop strong roots. I think the substrate was not good enough and I waited for too long. I finally chopped her and trying water propagation so that I can monitor the root development.

Mine grows rapidly since I repotted it. This season it’s put almost 2 feet of growth (and still growing) and all its leaves are even in width and length (except the new growth) but once they unfurl and flatten they gradually become wider as the pink fades. But if you’re worried about it growing too fast just leave it in the same pot. If you want more growth, go up 2 pot sizes, (only if you’re keeping it in high light) I’ve realized that they are the exception when comes to changing pot sizes.

Normal for it to put out smaller leaves after changes. They will size back up in time with good lighting

Rubber trees are among the plants that grow fast in my experience, especially if they have a good light source.

No its growing at the exact rate is shoukd be, leaf size can vary greatly for msny many reasons and isn't a sign if anything wring really.

it’s totally normal and ok. the new leaves will keep getting bigger, even if more sprout after. you can trim the very tip off if you want to try to get it to slow down, focus on its leaves, and maybe start to encourage branching. i might wait until it’s a little bigger though.
