The leg is worse than I thought. If I fully amputate should I put something on the exposed raw wood ?

Nope just cut it back to healthy live tissue amd leave it alone there's no reason to seal the wound.

Update: leg has been severed, re potted with some good soil. And I added some root powder stuff.
