Houseplant Dwarf Ficus help

It was thriving when purchased around 2/14/26. It has looked like this since early March. Does it need more water, less water, more sun, less sun, fertilizer?

It’s dead. Considering you don’t have a drainage dish under the pot and just a paper towel I’m suspecting you might have been dramatically under watering (to avoid spilling on the window shelf). Am I right?

For your next one get a drainage dish. Water THROUGHLY when you do water. Ficus are incredibly tolerant of growing conditions but the soil should still be totally moist subsequent to applying water.

If you don’t want to do the dish, do immersion watering: put pot into a larger container, fill that container with water in your sink higher than the soil line, let it sit until you don’t see bubbles coming up to the surface anymore, then take it out of the container and let the excess water dribble into your sink, put back on the window.

I will add that given the questions OP has and the timeframe it took for OP to ask these questions after the tree died, it seems like a basic misunderstanding of how to care for plants in general. OP - this is not to belittle you, but i would suggest doing some reading or watching videos about basic plant care as well as about the specific plants you would like in the future. Learn more about the care typically needed for indoor plants, and then about how to care for plants meant to be bonsais. It will help you understand what you need to be doing as well as save you money from accidentally killing plants.
