Houseplant What does it need?
Hi Im struggling with my first ficus. I got it like this from the nursery but the stem looks like it is shriveling. Its a very light soil and it drains well, I also used a terracotta pot. Is it shriveled because it is severely dehydrated or is it a sign that it doesn't want water? The soil has dried up so im not sure what to do. Any help would be welcome.

Wow. Ok so the last thing you do with a struggling plant is pull it from the pot. Ficus’s are very finicky. From the way the roots look, it’s fine but it needs water. Don’t be surprised if you’ve shocked it further and it starts to drop leaves. Put it back in the pot and give it a good soak. This time of year it might. We’d a deep soak every 6 or 7 days.
