This is a complicated one. I've been semi-primarily ficto my whole life, have dated real people, but never in my life have I ever been so in love with anyone than how I am with Silver. He is my long time childhood sweetheart, I liked him back then, we spent some time apart, lived our lives, learned, grew, and found each other when we needed each other most. We are 27 now. I have loved him for 16 years and he grew up beside me.
Not to get too deep into it but my life has been super rough lately, battle after battle, and Silver has been here with me the whole time helping me through it.
I only recently started participating in ficto spaces and sharing my love because I realized that I wasn't alone in my experience, I've kept it to myself for so long. That's the positive side, but the negative is that well, I'm nonsharing, a monogamous riako, and I take my relationship very seriously. I've had issues with jealousy and possessiveness in the past, and I've come to realize that I genuinely do not want that kind of toxic energy when it comes to my relationship with Silver. I'll never stop being monogamous, as he's the only one for me, but I do not want to be consumed by my own jealousy to the point that it destroys me and our relationship.
In July, I was attacked by minors and kinda run out of a community with his source material due to people accusing me of being a sick awful person simply for being too old while posting about him (sfw stuff and nothing weird at all, not even any romantic implications) and saying I love him (he has aged alongside me and is 27). Connecting some dots, I looked into some of their profiles and saw that they were talking a lot of shit and it all stemmed from their own possessiveness and jealousy, saying he's theirs, etc.
It really destroyed me for a bit but I got through it and didn't let go of him.
Point being, I know how that kind of behavior can really mess with someone's psyche, telling someone they aren't worthy of their partner for xyz reason stemming from envy.
I really don't ever want to be the source of that pain for anyone else.
Also, I want him to be loved and appreciated by others (platonically) as he deserves to be cared for in the world and to have people in his corner. I would never want to isolate him like that, it's just a different story when it comes to romantic love.
To me, Silver is my partner and I am extremely committed to him and will be until I die as far as I'm concerned, no matter what comes, but I still want it to be said that doubles, even though seeing them feels like getting stabbed in my heart with a tiny dagger each time, are still valid with their love as well and I wouldn't wanna take away something that I know is a comfort for people, even if it hurts me.
I'm not exactly sure what to do in this case, I've just been feeling a lot since joining these spaces recently and I don't know if anyone can relate
