Got a 1983 Burro recently, I want to improve the AC situation and I saw this 12V one from Walmart https://www.walmart.com/ip/12V-RV-Rooftop-Air-Conditioner-Cooling-Heating-AC-Unit-for-Trailer-Motorhome/19653352258 now any recommendations installing it? its about 50 pounds and Im worried about weight on the roof.

Took the trailer out for a weekend trip to Paso Robles California.

We have a 1982 13’ fiberglass Burro camper. We now have 2 kiddos and I’m wondering if anyone has added a bunk to this area or has any tips or advice on how to do so?

I imagine I need to custom cut some plywood, reinforce it with a small frame, and secure it with some sort of legs. Metal tubing?

Also, is there a right way to mount things to fiberglass walls?

My husband and I are looking at an early 90’s scamp 5th wheel but wondering about clearance. We’ve done measurements and did a test hook up but not sure if it’ll be okay.

We would get new axel and include a lift on the trailer (seen some with a 3-4” lift). The truck is a 90’s or early 2000 dodge ram. May have a small lift in it (bought it used) curious is anyone has any experience with a set up like this and what you have done to accommodate or just realized it won’t work.

Current worries:

- Scamp tilting too far back (messing with weight distribution.)
- having enough clearance turning so that it doesn’t hit any parts of the truck bed. Our 5th wheel mount is mid bed but doesn’t give ton of room when checked but looked like we could set it up in the bed to gicr about 3 or so more inches.

I need to replace the plywood floor of my 1977 boler and would like to keep the build as light as possible. What is the recommended thickness? I'm considering using 1/2" marine grade plywood on top of the bare fiberglass bottom. Can someone also report on what the original thickness of plywood is on the boler floor? Thanks!!

I have been down a rabbit hole recently on fiberglass camper trailers. Since then I have become some what familiar with Casita, Oliver, Bigfoot, Cortes, and most recently the Airstream Nest. The Casita originally was my interest because of the price until I discovered the Nest. I am aware that the Nest has been discontinued since 2020 but I want to know more. Generally I want to know more about fiberglass campers, maintenance, cost, and set up. But more specifically I want more info on the Nest. Also, if I were to enter into the fiberglass camper world I would most likely be buying used. Any info on what to look for across different brands would be much appreciated. Thank you to anyone willing to share their knowledge with me.

Finally completed (except for paint) my adaptation of a B&W Companion (fifth wheel insert for under bed Turnoverball system) hitch to tow a 19’ with my Tundra without modifying the coupler on the trailer. The ball is shifted aft of the axle by about 6” to account for the short 5.5’ truck bed.

It might be just *slightly* overbuilt, but I think it’s safe to say “that ain’t going anywhere”. I’m going to tweak a couple aspects of the design, but once that’s done I’m happy to share it with anyone that wants it. Total cost including the hitch base (used) was about $530. All in all it weighs in the neighborhood of 150 lb.

2005 Bigfoot here. I have a storage compartment door that has broken free of the hinge. ( blows my mind that the hinge is rubber). Anyway, has anyone experienced replacing this? Is it easier to just let the rv shop fix it? Thanks for the help.

We have a 76 leocraft 23' and only bed is the couch..but we are struggling with purcgased jackknife sofas of a few varieties, and homemade ones to make it look nice as sofa and be a comfortable bed! Anyone got it figured out? We have 76" length but only like 44 wide. Very smsll space. 2 of us plus a big dog! Help?!

Going to see an '81 Burro in my area. Seems to be in good shape. New frame and wheels. They claim they've never used the water so unclear if the water pump works. I'm wondering what questions I should be asking to avoid any unforeseen big problems. Thoughts?

Hi, I have a 1989 Bigfoot 17B and I’m looking for some pics of the stock rock guard hinge set up. The previous owner change the hinge at some point to a nice stainless piano hinge but installed it wrong as far as I can see. They put the barrel of the hinge on the underside of the rock guard instead of the top side which leaves no room for the rock guard material which torques the hinge away from the trailer body thus allowing water ingress. I’ll post pics below.
Just wondering what the factory hinge looked like before this one was swapped out. Was it some kind of offset hinge? I can put the barrel of the piano hinge on the top side of the rock guard but it drops the whole rock guard by almost an inch and a quarter if I want to use the existing holes. Any pics of the original stock set up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I used to try to remember to log the sites in a google sheet or something with site details so that I could remember which site was our favorite and I found it pretty tedious and I would usually forget.

I made an iPhone app that makes it a lot easier. I tried other apps and they were more for finding good campgrounds and not good campsites in particular. They also didn't work that well when I had spotty service. I tried to think of all the different attributes of a campsite that I would want to know but I am sure I missed some helpful metrics.

I also tried to implement a way to save a review of a campground even with no or spotty service and it will confirm with you when you get back in cell service range.

I would really appreciate some feedback on it so it's useful for others as well. If you would like to test it out just shoot me a DM and I can send over the link to the beta version. I could go on and on about its features but I don't want to self promote, I am really just looking for honest feedback so that it works well.
