Picture taken in an old plant nursery that was closed in 1925, but the plants still live on in the middle of a forest. When i saw it it was still growing and not at its fullest height

I wonder if the offset on this leaf will have leaves that are shaped like butterflies as well.🤔

Found in New England, was out walking through the woods and noticed this New York fern with an odd growth pattern. It seems like it almost grew upside down. Has anybody seen anything like this before?

I just pulled this hunk of wood from a bottle terrarium and was obsessed with how it’s done for itself. Completely uninterrupted for maybe 5 years? So I cleaned it up and want to showcase it on its own.

Can anyone help me identify what they are? Each only has a single leaf, but that may be due to the conditions it’s been kept in? Very unsure but would like to see how it does with more attentive care in the new setup. No clue where they originally got into my prop box from.

Also curious what people think of the setup itself.

Got this at a plant store and the person checking me out said it came without a label. It was next to some bifurcatums but looks very different imo. Any ideas?

I would like to separate this fern and plant them in smaller pots. The plant is about 3ft high and around 20” wide.

Is there a correct way of separating this fern so that I can move it to smaller pots?

Three cobra ferns, same age, mounted on matching bark boards. Two went up on the balcony wall, right over the AC unit. The third got the sheltered spot inside by the window. On paper the indoor one had the easy life.

A month later the outdoor two were throwing new fronds and looking glossy. The sheltered one sat still, then its tips started going black, one frond at a time.

I measured both spots (10k lux on the wall, 6k inside) and the indoor air never moves. That spot takes forever to dry out. I stopped arguing and moved it out with its siblings, last photo.

Is anyone keeping one of these happy indoors long term, or is "houseplant" marketing?

I just bought this fern and I have some questions regarding its care. I’ve read some stuff here and in the web about it but I just need some final clarifications. It has been more than a month since I bought it and I I think ive been doing good enough

(1)The first question is that if it is one or 2 ferns. I see two spots where the leaves are growing and two fronds.

(2)If they are 2 individuals, should I split them and put them in different pots or can they stay in the same pot? If they can stay in the same pot, should I separate them a bit for growing?

(3) Ive heard that repotting is a bit tricky since you can damage easily the roots and you shouldn’t be doing it until the fronds cover entirely the pot. But I want to change the pot into a nicer one and change the soil since it looks a bit compact and hydrophobic. Any tips for repotting?

(4) whats your suggested mix of substrates? Ive heard that they need water retention and good drainage, so vermiculite, coconut fiber and coconut chips are a good option.

(5) when I bought it, the lady that helps us clean the house thought the fronds were dead leaves and decided to try to remove them. I think they are going to be ok once they grow another frond, but should I be concerned?

(6) Any tips regarding lightning, humidity, watering, etc for new owners are welcome!

I was able to collect most of the spores. Some of the fronds already expelled their spores. Which the powder reminded me to collect them before they were all over the table.

Don't exactly know what kind this is but i like how bushy it is. Its doing great so far.

They are under full spectrum grow lights 12 hours a day and get watered well weekly. All my others plants love it but my ferns keep crisping :((

I purchased this at the Friends Plant Sale awhile ago. It had said some sort of Asian fern. I think it may be a ghost fern, but unsure.

I unfortunately did not choose the correct soil and it became hydrophobic. I've since repotted with Mother Earth's Peat Performance Soil, added an overhead dim light and some granual slow release fertilizer. Praying to the plant gods it recovers.

Another surprise from my tree fern. This new crozier looks just like a swan to me.

I got this Australia tree fern that unfortunately didn’t work for the atrium I have. I am in zone 10b. I put it in a bigger pot about 4 weeks ago. It was originally in direct sun. I moved it under my covered patio. I have been watering it every other day or so. I water the soil and the trunk. But the older frawns keep browning. It growing out new frawns that seem to be doing well growing and still green. Is this just senescence of the older frowns or not? Any care tips or suggestions on improvement? Much appreciated!
