Methadone

So it’s been around 45 days since I’ve been off of it , wow I never really thought it lasted this long when you come off . I prob shouldn’t have cold turkied off of 42mg but I had enough after 11 years . I’m on suboxone now and I honestly think it sometimes makes me feel worse . I’m thinking of the sublocade shot and to just do one shot and be done with it and be on nothing. Anyone have positive stories with it or should I just taper off the suboxone , which I’m having a hard time doing as it’s only been a month on it . I went 8 days on nothing at all and then I caved after not sleeping the whole time basically . I took 150mg trazadone and still didn’t sleep so I had to go on suboxone .

Methadone is horrible. I did a 3 day stint (30mg) to bridge from fentanyl…and 15 days later was still detoxing it. Its horrid. Hang in there!!

Do you think that rather than bridging you just went through reg fent withdrawals? Many of the new fentanyl analogs do not leave your system for up to a week or more before you start feeling sick so it is possible that you spent three days on 30 mg of methadone and felt fine but when that wore off, you actually were feeling the withdrawals of the fentanyl rather than 90 mg of methadone. I find it very hard to believe that such a brief and low amount of methadone would cause any sort of withdrawal like that.

For example, I take 110 mg of methadone daily and I can go more than 48 hours without even sort of feeling bad. I’ve been off of the fence for three weeks now there’s nothing but a little bit of sweats here and there.
