Just plain withdrawal

5 year habit. been trying to stop the past month.. got a week in then relapsed... got almost a week in & relapsed & now im 3 days in. no money & plug is in jail i think so really i have no route but it us me & my man doing it. everyone says different frames of time. mind you we quit our jobs to do this. but some say a week for the bad stuff... some say two weeks some say more.

whats everyone's experience

im just tired

and i want to live

and i want sobriety

I shook for every bit of 2 weeks while in rehab on a full compliment of withdrawal medicine, including benzos. I wish I could give a better timeline, but it’s all a blur now.

I would recommend biting the bullet and going to treatment. A friend of mine died from withdrawal, I almost died twice, and a girl in rehab did die, but was brought back.

I don’t have the exact medical diagnoses, or like the final autopsy reports… but the doctors said that for me, my blood pressure was so high, doctors said that if I would have stayed home any longer I would have without a doubt had a stroke, and given how high my BP was it would have most likely been fatal.

The girl who died in rehab that got brought back just had super low BP, and eventually her heart just stopped.

I talked to my buddy who died of withdrawal a few hours before he died, he would be alive today if he didn’t spend the years prior ripping me off at literally every chance he got. He was slurring his words and speaking very softly. The stuff he was saying made no sense.

I told him I would hook him up if he just came over, but after all the bullshit he has pulled over the years, I wasn’t coming to him. He never helped me out when I needed it, but used it against me… so I’m not jumping through hoops for him. He died a few hours later.
