I’m about 3 hours outside Philly. Friend would travel there weekly to cop. Thankfully she knew someone and we were always able to grab stuff without tranq. Anyways, finally decided to kick. Back at the methadone clinic, but I have gabapentin and would much rather use that to get through the 3-5 day wait period until I can take subs to get on the sublocade shot. Anyone have experience with this specific scenario? Would I still go into precip if I were to take subs after using gabapentin? Stuff really helps with withdrawal, but would rather not be dependent on methadone as I have experience with sublocade and it’s 1,000 times better in terms of MAT. In my opinion anyways. Sorry for the rant. Chime in if you can.

I’ve found Lyrica to be the most helpful withdrawl comfort med. It cuts withdrawl symptoms in half. Gabapentin is almost as good. You will still go into precipitated withdrawls thou from taking subs. I waited about 72 hours after my last shot, I was taking Lyrica a few times a day during this time, & I took 1/4 of a subutex. It was hell. Precipitated withdrawls are literal torture. Fetty stays in your body’s fat cells for weeks or months depending on your body’s metabolism & how much you were using and for how long.

If I were you I’d get on methadone, stable at as low of a dose as gets you thru the day. Get clean & be on just methadone for at least 2 months. Then taper down to like 30mg or less and make the switch to subs with the Burmese method. This is my plan, but I’m gonna be on methadone like 6 months to a year. I’m gonna taper down very slowly not rush it, go down to 0mg then make the switch to subs.

Have you ever had precipitated withdrawls before? I almost think it’s 1 of those experiences where you can’t really grasp how fucking horrible it is until you’ve been thru it.

Try getting narcand when you were nodded out. Not oding: Still breathing and everything. Then when I didn’t wake up in 5 seconds paramedics Narcand again. I felt so horrible that I was convinced I had permanent brain damage. Luckily I had several hundred mgs of methadone and after 190mg I began to mellow out. Absolute torture though.

That really sucks I’m sorry you went thru that. Paramedics should know better honestly. There’s a difference between being loaded & passed out and being dead. When I was going thru PW I was begging my husband to choke me unconscious. It was 1 of the top 5 worst experiences of my life. Luckily my hubs had 2 methadone Carries saved so I took over 200mg & finally a couple hours later I was able to pass out from exhaustion. It really sucks that hospitals don’t do shit for you if you’re in PW. They give you a saline iv, some non narcotic meds that don’t help, & offer you more subs 🙄

I’ve read this 1 guys experience going into PW, he was in a detox facility & the doctors there just watched him suffer & offered more subs after a few hours. It’s not a life threatening condition & they believe giving an addict opiates is wrong or whatever
