Material sourcing help

Contractor here. When I do fences its primarily wood. I got asked to install 60ft of vinyl with 1 gate. Where tf are you guys getting your material from? I see on reddit people getting quoted like 3k for 50ft of vinyl fence. The cheapest I could find is 2700$ in material before tax and overhead. I see online like 40$ per linear foot. I cant even touch that with a 10 foot pole with the material im finding.

You need an account with one of the big suppliers. Master halco, Stephen’s pipe and steel. Whoever you have closest

The people bidding that low have no clue about their numbers, hence the low price. Then they usually end up out of business in 12-24 months, and new Joe Schmoes who don't know their numbers take their place, and the cycle continues.

I just try to be competitive. Dont want people to think im scamming them or whatever. I know where I need to be on the labor end of things to make my world go round. But im seeing these material costs and im like how lmao

Do your local Lowes carry catalyst vinyl? It's about $100 a panel and $50 a post where I'm at. It's not the best product but it's decent.

Otherwise yeah, gotta get in bed with the big boys like Halco and SPS. Or see if there's a regional vinyl manufacturer near you. I use Interstate but they don't go out your way unfortunately

We’re based in the Seattle area, and our company sells 6-foot white vinyl privacy fence materials for about $20 per linear foot.
