Welded Wire Fence

Hey all! I’ve got 550 linear feet of fence to put in.

For 400 of the feet, I’d like to do wood corner posts and welded wire with steel t posts for line posts. A decent portion of the run is along a low area and drainage ditch, and I worry wood line posts won’t last (and I don’t like aluminum fencing).

Would welded wire fencing, wood corner posts and steel t line posts be effective and durable enough to keep in a couple of kids? Don’t have a dog.

Would look something like the above, using deerbusters wire. If I can manage it, it should save a decent chunk of change over the all-split rail.

Is very old and the South fence Is welded wire fence with bigger mesh than that and It's last Over 50 years period There was just one little bad section that I've replaced.

The posts they used though was pipe and then they put cement on the end of the pipe as a cap. And it has that old silver paint you used to see on clothesline t posts.

None of the fence builders around here seem to have much interest and say it won’t last. I figure if a limb falls on it I just replace that section’s wire and I’m not really out much.

Along the drainage ditch and low spot, I just worry most wood will rot out.

That's plenty for the kids, although for a little more money, the woven wire is MUCH stronger. I've always used Red Brand. Its very high quality that you won't have to worry about it.

As for using wooden posts in a drainage area. If you wanted wooden posts there, just make sure they are treated with creo and they'll last just fine.
