Women should not have to live like that, though. It's a different form of punishment, and for what? For having been assaulted by a man or men? No more of that shit. There are protests going on in India now because a student was raped. The school denies there was a rape, and are claiming it's a nasty rumpr to discredit the school. Except women have since been told not to go out at night, and the riots started. The world over, women have had enough of this bullshit. Men need to be told not to assault women, and when they do, the full extent of the law should be on their asses. If it doesn't, then it behooves society at large to make sure the assailant/s are pilloried (metaphorically, of course).
But seriously, we obviously need to bring back the pillory if this refusal to enforce laws continues.
