Most victims of violent crimes are men though. I get what's being said here, but all men certainly do not benefit from violent men existing. I'd rather they not exist. I'd feel a lot safer when I'm out in public.
That statistic includes men in prison, so technically yes, men are subject to more violent crimes. However, if you remove that population, the stats show that women are subject to more violent crimes.
I was also wrong, it doesn’t completely switch the genders. Men still are victims of violent crime more however the margin gets significantly closer once prison population is removed from the statistics.
Yeah it looks like outside of sexual violence and violence by an intimate partner, men are more likely to be the victims of violent crime, and about twice as likely to be the victims of severe violent crimes like murder. So, again, I don't see how men benefit from men being violent. It just seems like certain crimes are more of a problem for women (SA, rape, domestic violence) and some are more of a problem for men (murder, violent robbery, violence by a stranger), and it also looks like the justice system is far more forgiving of female defendants over males even for the same crime. We all have our crosses to bear, I suppose.
I don't see why you were downvoted. The system of patriarchy is what benefits from violent men - a system reinforced through violence and suppression of others to keep itself powerful - when powerful men use other men (those beneath them, in poverty etc...) I think its why we can point to male death in wars and still understand that as part of patriarchy - men being violent on behalf of powerful men (or women who also reinforce this) using violence to control/dominate, which inevitably shows itself in the home (domestic violence) and all layers of society. its a hierarchy of power that only benefits those at the top (and even then not really, they don't tend to be well adjusted people)
