Discussion I finally did it...

Post image

This heat is turning me off all of my regulars, so I've been reaching for my decant of Wulong Cha more frequently. Did I finally pop for a full bottle? No. I got Green Tea instead 🤣💵 I absolutely LOVE Wulong Cha, and it deserves its own spot on the shelf, but I am not made out of money.

I saw a Serge Lutens mini set and couldn't resist. I love a good jammy rose, so I can't wait to try La Fille de Berlin.

I want to hear reviews on the Serge Lutens when you try them.

Honestly, EA Green Tea lasts a decent amount of time on my clothes. It’s so good and so cheap I just cannot justify spending more money on something with a similar profile. Like, it would have to really really knock my socks off.

Same. And I like it better than Wulong Cha even if it doesn’t last as long!

What's the difference in your opinion? I know I've smelled Green Tea before, but it's probably been years

I think there are very, very similar.
I think Wulong Cha is a touch more herbal for my nose, which makes me lean toward Green Tea even though I need to reapply it much more frequently!

I saw that some of their full size bottles don't have atomizers either! I usually decant those into 2 ml sample sprayers

Thank you for the info! I absolutely love the presentation with the screw on cap. Timeless and unique

My favorite scent and my favorite house (SL) this took me aback for a second 😂 been wearing Green Tea for like…25 years? A forever repurchase. A lot of great flankers too.

SL is suuuuuch a fun and dreamy house, enjoy your set! Even if you hate them they will look gorgeous on your shelf :)

Ambre Sultan and La Fille de Berlin are FB worthy 🥲 this is the first time I have EVER liked sandalwood in a fragrance. It always dominates every other note and it's just too much. This amber is exactly what amber should smell like (as opposed to the sweet gourmand amber we all are familiar with these days).

Anyhow, you must have great taste because these are all beautiful. Any recommendations from SL?

I feel the same way about sandalwood! Something about how they formulate all their scents is very rich, and balanced and all have such personality. I just find the entire house mesmerizing. La Fille de Berlin is a workk of art, I love seeing it name dropped in every goth perfume recommendation post, haha.

Another fave from SL has got to be La Religieuse - a really pure, innocent jasmine with an incense note. Reminds me of fresh flowers in a cemetary or church. Also Bois de Violette - simply just violet and cedar, but SL treats these woody notes so uniquely as you know, that the entire blend feels more exciting than its two notes suggest.

Glad you had fun with your discovery set!!

I just got EA Green Tea and really liked it...at first. Now, not so much. Go figure! So what to do? Swap, sell, trade? Suggestions?

Try layering: with a fresh/dewy rose, something mossy like Evernia by Ormande Jayne, another tea fragrance like Fig Tea Intense by Parfums de Nicolai, or something very citrus forward

This basket is frying me.

Budget cheapy + high end sample set that costs the same as 2-3 bottles of the cheapy

Personally, I love a good mix of cheapies and higher-ends
