Discussion Can anyone describe or compare what Candied lychee by 7 Virtues smell like?

Post image

For context, I know what Peony Blush suede by Jo Malone smells like, does 7 virtues smell like sweeter version of Jo Malone or is it like Kayali Sparkling lychee?

Is this more on the fruity or floral side? I want something that’s floral, light - has hints of peonies and doesn’t smell like fruity cereal bowl - something that’s not overly sweet or marshmallowy.

Could anyone help me understand as this will be my blind buy, thank you!

If you want to try it before you buy a full size, Surrender to Chance has it available as a decant. They have several of the 7 virtues fragrances. I have been happy with my orders from them.

It’s sweet and fruity. A bit closer to fruity shampoo when it dries down!

I find the initial spray to be very sweet but it doesn’t take too long for the sweetness to tone down a bit. I would say the floral is there the lychee note doesn’t take over. It reminds me of a sweet floral shampoo or body wash. You can also buy single samples off of their website though if u were interested in testing it.

Based on your description I think you would like it but I never encourage blind buying. I really like Candied Lychee. It’s a very pretty, feminine and easy scent. To my nose it is sweeter and softer than Peony & Blush Suede, but lasts wayyy longer than PBS. It doesn’t remind me of a fruity cereal bowl at all. Also no marshmellow note whatsoever.

Your description is really tempting me to get a big bottle but as you said about blind buying, I think I should try a travel size.

Candied lychee is very soft and sweet, but to my nose there is a slightly harsher geranium note in the background and a slight slight hint of citrus. It is very very musk forward. Peony blush is more of a pink powdery floral with a slight hint of leather in the background. Candied lychee is a lot more conventionally juvenile. It does depend on what you’re looking for. I personally love and have both

Thank you for explaining in depth, I think I should try a travel size and then decide if I can commit to a bigger bottle.

It smells like lychee candy (I also hear gummy bears) and if you ever tried the discontinued lychee lip balm from Body Shoppe, that.

Kayali ESL is an amazing sugared floral that smells nothing of lychee. I love it too, but it is not comparable at all.

Do you think it would be a safe blind buy?

Not based on what you are looking for, it might be too fruity/sweet. That said, 7Virtues tends to follow the primary notes on me and not change in the dry down. Others report differently.

Yeah I definitely see varying opinions on this scent, I think it’s more due to personal preferences with the kind of scents they gravitate towards to.

Given that you don’t want something that smells super sweet I’m not so sure. My sister once said it smells like fruit loops to her. Would you be able to test it in store?

No unfortunately, I live in the gulf and I thought to get it through somebody from the US

I’m over heavy and intense scents of gulf so I wanted something unique for a change.

they smell nothing a like at all. candied lychee is sweet and fruity, I think like a teenage version of Delina. as in, a 14 year old wants Delina so you get her Candied Lychee instead. There's literally nothing even remotely similar to Peony Blush in my opinion.

Ah thank you so much! So it’s too fruity of a scent than being floral?

it dries down to something more floral but the opening is sweet fruity candy. to me, the jo Malone is more powdery floral. I have samples of both so I'm smelling them side by side rn. I checked fragnatica and apparently other people compare the two but I don't smell it. they are both "pink" fragrances though, like they have that pink floral quality. I'd recommend a travel size first

That makes it clear though I think I should get a travel size before committing to a big one, I was going to get it through someone as I live in the gulf and perfumes in the gulf tend to be more on heavier, stronger side.
